Ok if anyone got that reference, you rock. Anyhoo, onto why I’m freaking out.
I think I found a ring reciept! Now, I was not snooping so I just want to make that clear. Here’s what happened: I JUST woke up and J texted me from his blackberry phone (his work phone). J has two phones, and he forgot one at home or lost it, so he texted me asking if he called the phone, if I could listen for it and find it for him. No problem. This has happened before. Turns out he left it in his lunch bag with his wallet and a ton of loose bills and reciepts. I had to dig through them all to find the phone. Well, two business card type of things fell out of my hands when I grabbed the bunch of reciepts to get his phone. They looked like (and felt like) business cards, but it said ‘Receipt’ on it. It also had J’s credit card info on both cards, the date (which was Saturday August 6th at 11:48am… when he was shopping for my b-day gift… the camera), as well as a charge of $800.
Now, I know these are NOT the receipts for my camera because he got it at either Best Buy or Future Shop, and they’re notorious for having huge, long reciepts that are red and white in colour, or blue and white (depending on the store). Also, my camera cost much more than $800.
Bee’s. I’m freakin’ out. In a good way. I think those cards I found is an $800 deposit that J put down on a ring! But they don’t have a name on them (store name, etc). Which I can understand, if a guy wants to keep it hush hush, right?

@GwenvonD: HAHA! That reference just made my morning. “He’s already pulled over, he can’t pull over any farther!”
I don’t know how jewellers do receipts. It would make sense to keep them non-descript in case someone were to find them

@GwenvonD: the snozberries taste like snozberries. 🙂

Thanks! I was wondering what he put in his lunch bag that day, because we were on our way out to a picnic thing that his work was having. He had just gotten home from shopping for my b-day gift and he went into the kitchen to empty out his pockets. I asked him a question from the front door and peeked my head around the corner as I asked, and he quickly threw some stuff into his lunch bag, as if I wasn’t supposed to see anything. It’s all starting to make sense now…
Anyone know how long it takes for a ring to come in once you’ve put down the deposit and ordered it? lol
…Talk about being impatient, lmao!

My bf has had mine for six months. Still waiting.

I don’t want a large farva, I want a goddamn liter of cola!
Before my birthday last year mr. ko got a delivery pick-up slip from the post office and it was from a jeweler, needless to say I was pretty durn excited. Turns out he bought me some earrings from etsy… womp womp. It took him 7 months after that to finally get my ring, and then he only had it for a few hours before he proposed.

I found a receipt too! On accident….I was STOKED. Good thing I was home by myself, because I started shaking a little bit and freakout and calledmybestfriendrightaway. The thing is, I still had to wait 4 more months before the proposal! 🙂

Hmm… It’s pretty unlikely that a store (any store) would NOT put their name on the receipt. Unless it’s one of those stores in the mall that sell housewares. There must be SOME way on the receipt to identify the store/product. Otherwise how can you exchange/return something when the store won’t even know what it is?
I do hope it’s a ring. I’m just concerned about the fishyness of the receipt!

exciting! depending what store it is it might or might not have their name written on their receipts – I suppose if it’s a deposit only they might not be able to issue a full receipt anyway. Some stores (smaller stores) will just write you a handwritten one to say you paid a deposit.
Hope you get it soon!
I think my Fiance had mine for 3 weeks before he proposed.

I found a receipt from a jewellery store right before christmas last year, and got really excited! Had a little square box to open on Christmas day, got even MORE excited and it was…… a necklace.
so, try not to get your hopes up but i’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for you!!!

I am SUCH an idiot. When I got home from work today I wanted to make sure I actually saw what I saw this morning on those receipts. I don’t know what the hell I was seeing this morning, but I could have SWORN the dates on the receipts said 06/08/11. I SWEAR on my LIFE that’s what they said because I looked at them twice this morning: When I first came across them, and after I ate my cereal JUST to be sure. Turns out the dates were 06/28/11, which was when we visted Montreal in June and took the subway. It was the subway receipts. No ring receipts 🙁 The charge of $800 was written like: 8,00$. And now that I think about it, that is how Montreal prices things (they use a colma rather than a decimal. So the price I saw on the card was actually $8.00, not $800.
Dammit. How on EARTH did I mis-read those dates!?! I looked at them twice this morning just to be sure I wasn’t going crazy! Ugh. Anyhoo… Now that I’ve made a complete a$$ of myself… Back to waiting *sigh*. At least I know he went back to the store that day though :/ That, I know for sure.

I know how it is though – we get our hopes up at the slightest little thing. Heck, I thought I was getting a ring and I got an electric toothbrush.
