@kat912:  This exact thing happened to me! Except that the dress was coming from overseas! MOH’s got lost in the mail. Thankfully, it did come in time for the wedding!

ETA: can you contact the company? Maybe if you explain your situation there’s something they can do to hurry!

Tough love:

She’s going to get the dress and make it happen. She lives in NYC- land of *primo* high end tailors who can turn around like magic. Your worrying is helping literally nothing- not the dress situation, not your life. Nothing. So take a deep breath and focus on something else!

@kat912:  take a deep breath. Hopefully it arrives on the proposed date and that it fits perfectly. Even if there aren’t time for alterations, it may fit just fine without.

I would start looking for potential off the rack replacements (similar color & style) that she might be able to get if it doesn’t arrive/fit. She won’t match the rest of the bridesmaid exactly, but it’s not her fault, and you want her in your wedding for a reason, right?

I wouldn’t worry about it yet. If it’s not there by mid-April, then you’ll have to figure something out. But there’s nothing you can do right now.

@MrsBuesleBee:  +1, I agree

With all of the options around her, I’m sure she will be able to find a place to get her alterations done in time, especially if she explains the situation.  Just try to relax 🙂

@kat912:  I honestly don’t know lol! Looking back, I can’t believe I wasn’t freaking out a lot more than I was! Thankfully, in my situation, it was my MOH, so I figured I could find her a different dress to wear and play it off like she wasn’t supposed to match the rest of the BMs

Don’t stress, lady!  It will get there in time, and alterations can be super quick.  As in, same day.  So no worries!!

@kat912:  don’t worry about it. at all. no matter what. even if she has to pick a dress that doesn’t match, but is in the right color, a few days before the wedding. don’t let this add additional stress to your process. if she’s in a dress that doesn’t match, it just becomes part of your story – and you can tell people about the shenanigans and laugh about it after. trust me. i went through the exact same thing with our bouquets, and it isn’t worth it! if people notice it in pictures i just say omg yes, you won’t believe this hilarious story!
