Oh gosh VM I saw your post and I thought "Oh no!!! WHAT NOW?!?!?!" I'm so happy to hear things are going well and you're making friends (both winged and heeled). We miss you around here! Post photos of your fitting if you took any!

I am in the same boat :-)
People keep asking "how things are going?" Or "you must be stressed with everything you have to do?"
But I always answer with "nope, we're great - on cruise control now!"

@SanDiegoAli: Yes!!!! It is SUCH a relief! I was literally feeling sick about it....but I should have given myself more credit and felt calm this whole time....it's really perfect.
@bakerella: I didn't take any! My mom wanted to, but I asked her not to! I'm too critical with photos.... :(

So glad things are coming together for you. Awesome. Ours is two weeks from yesterday and McGroom got laid off on Friday, so nothing is going together. It's pretty much all stopped. Oops. Guess that's life.
@VirginiaMarie: pleasantly surprised that everything is goin in the right direction! i was right there with Bakerella, thinking something else might have come up!
i am so excited for you and your big day that is inching closer and closer...
all i'm thinking about right now is this countdown (10 days) to law school finals... and then everything FUN! bach party in vegas at the end of AUGUST!! WOOOO then the BIG DAY 9/18!!!!

So glad to hear things are going well for you VirginiaMarie!!! Cant believe it is 2 weeks from Saturday!!! I am in the same boat as you that almost everything is done (the final things we cant do until we are in Georgia and we are leaving in 12 days!!) and we are just sitting back and ready for it to all happen!!!
I am picking up my dress on Saturday with my mom and MOH so they can see how to bustle it, I am finalizing our seating chart, FI is almost done with our slideshow for the rehearsal dinner, Ive been packing up and labeling boxes. It feels SO good!!!! Its almost here!!!

I will also second the "do as much as you can, as early as you can." I am a month out and wrapping things up. Very little stress currently. Could not be more excited!

1) Thanks for this - I am newly engaged as of Friday and am itching to start planning since we want to get married this April.
2) I work as an infectious disease epidemiologist for a state health dept - i am VERY concerned about the bat situation.. please PM me with details, have you spoken to your doctor or health dept about getting PEP??

Yey!!! So glad things are falling perfectly into place :) I was half expecting a funny/weird story about your guests again on your post. I'm relieved that it is not the case.
I was worried when I saw it under emotional but I'm so glad it is all working out. 16 days out today and everything seems to be right on track! I went for my final fitting last night had a lot of final meeting this week and am really started to get excited that everything is coming together.

Everything is falling into place!
I am currently traveling, and therefore have been a bit MIA on the boards lately...but I want to touch base and let you all know what a wonderful experience this is shaping up to be!
Maybe you remember that I was one of those brides with MAJOR dress regret. I purchased my gown in Decemeber and have pretty much been a nervous wreck since. Well, I finally saw her again for the first time a few days ago....and had my final fitting a few hours ago. It is absolutely perfect for me. After trying on 134 dress (yes! 134 dresses!) I can say with complete confidence that this is the gown for me. Now, granted....I've had a ton of work done to it....lots of designs changes done by an amazing seamstress. I couldn't be happier.
I also found the most perfect J Crew outfit to change into during coffee and cookie hour...and to wear for the rest of the evening (think: after party!)
Everything is in place. The dress, the veil, the shoes, the jewels, the other outfits, the welcome bags, the bathroom baskets, the menu, the wines, the hair, the makeup, the playlists, the toasts, the programs.....and probably more.
To those who are newly engaged, I can tell you that these last few weeks have been a breeze for me because I planned as much as I could as early as I could. There was a time, about 8 months ago when I had oodles of free time.....I did so much for the wedding that I was sick of it! But now---I'm so pleased. These weeks will be busy for sure---but I feel confident knowing that everything is essentially good to go.
Oh and on a side note: I was attacked by a bat in the middle of the night and a very nice person who also happens to be a transgender heard my screams and came to my rescue. This was no ordinary bat----it was HUGE with a 15inch wingspan. Isn't that wild? I flipped out. Don't worry---I'm not rabid. Phew....!!!!!!
