and it doesn’t really feel that different? Like, I haven’t even really thought about getting married and having the party of my life next week.
When should I expect it to kick in? Don’t get me wrong: I want to marry this man more than anything. I realize that everyone handles this differently but I’m scared that I’m not going to appreciate this time like I should.

I’ve got 11 months to go, so I can’t offer too much advice other than… Congrats and enjoy your day! I’m sure it will be magical.
PS- Did Dorothy and Rose fight over being your MOH?

It didn’t really hit me until like 3 days before and that’s when I totally snapped and went into psycho bitch mode. I was ridiculously organized and had everything done but all of the emotions kind of came flooding in and I became really overwhelmed. It will hit you, I promise.

@KelsieLea7: They did; that’s why I chose Sophia. Just easier that way.

@Blanche: i’ve been married a week now and sometimes it still hasn’t kicked in. i see the ring on my husband’s finger and think, “oh, yeah, we’re married now”.

For me it didn’t kick in until all our friends and family started rolling into town. Having everyone here was when I started to get really excited.

@Blanche: It didn’t kick in for me until I put on the wedding dress the morning of the wedding. Made me pretty unpleasant to be around, and it also meant all the nervousness kicked in at full force in the 15 minutes before the ceremony started.
It’s a unique experience for everyone, and it’ll kick in in time for you to appreciate it. I started really enjoying it and soaking it all in once I held DH’s hand when I got to the end of the aisle, and that for me was a defining moment of our day. Don’t force it, it’ll be great!

Every time my mom stresses me out I just have to say “Shady Pines Ma, Shady Pines”

Congrats on the upcoming wedding!!! 🙂
Because we were married in a different state than where we live, most of the planning and details were done 1-2 weeks ahead of time. I also took into account the distance factor, so I chose my diy projects carefully and had them done in enough time.
The nerves didn’t hit me until after I had my hair and makeup done the day of the wedding. I went to lunch with my parents, sister and bridesmaid and was nervous the whole time-for no particular reason I could come up with. The nerves went away when we arrived at the venue and I saw my hubby. The rest of the day was all good.

@Blanche: I didn’t feel anything until the week of. Then it just hit me. I think what you’re feeling is common. There is just so much going on it’s hard to just sit back and soak it all in.
P.S. I love your avatar and name and the already Golden Girls references. It’s my favorite show. I love Mondays because WE TV plays it until 11!
