so ive decided to splurge and get myself p90x! i know i will stick to it if i pay that much! lol. i have lost 20 lbs so far with weightwatchers… but i need to jump start my weightloss and start exercising! anyways…. have you gals used it? what do you think?

Good for you for losing the first 20lbs! Good luck with p90x. I am starting Insanity on Monday (getting the DVDs Friday), which is an amped up version of p90x basically. Two of the women I work with are using it and LOVE it. They gripe about how intense it is, but they say the pain feels so worth it haha.

Buy it on ebay! It is much cheaper, although ours was missing the instruction book and food quide (but you can find that online).
I did it for one night and gave up. However, I’m also training for a half marathon and have to run everyday and I didn’t have enough time for everything. I also caught a nasty cold that had me in bed for awhile.
The boy stuck with it religiously for 4 weeks and I could definitely see the difference in his upper body 😀 He is 6’4 and really thin already so I think the muscle definition was easier to see immediately. He has been doing it off and on for the past 2 weeks and focusing on baseball more but has still kept the muscle definition.

I did P90, the program right below p90x and loved it. I bought P90x but haven’t had time to start it yet because of the stupid bar exam.
My family does it and they LOVE IT. They’ve all gotten really great results.

FI does it, and i’ve joined him on workouts when i can spare time between work and school… i started on jillian’s workouts 5/6 days a week so i think that prepped me…
p90x is long workouts 1-1.5 hours, but they do a good job of keeping up the intensity without having to over exert yourself.
FI is getting toned like CRAZY and i can’t wait til school gets out so i can committ more time to it.

If you already own handweights, P90X will probably work great for you. I got the stretch band things instead (less expensive) and found them to be sort of useless. I started doing Insanity instead, which works your ass off without the use of weights or bands.
Some friends of mine have had awesome results with P90X though.

@Amaryllis: Good luck starting Insanity! If you do the Fit Test first (which they recommend that you do) just beware that the girl is a MACHINE. She will make you feel inferior no matter what kind of shape you are in. She kicks her male-counterpart’s ass.

Hey bees! FI and I start MONDAY!!! we have 95 days till the wedding and this is a huge motivator! We have a family friend who did it and got amazing results! She even won a prize from beach body! She’s starting another round Monday so we’re gonna follow along with her– she’s letting us borrow the DVDs. We just got our pull up bar tonight 🙂 We’re super excited and just hope we can dig down deep and stick with it. I’ll keep you posted on our progress!!! Please keep us updated as well 🙂 GOOD LUCK!

@Amaryllis: Oh I need to get back to my Insanity! I haven’t done anything in a while, and I was trying to get back into it at the gym at work. And I agree with @Edina that the girl is a machine!
