Bahhh, I'm sorry. That's no fun.
Little things like that drive me crazy, too.
Like obsessive throat clearers, or tiny cough people. My roommate is a tiny cough person. It carries. So easily. Through the entire apartment. She has a rate of about 30/hour.
Ahhh! I've experienced this before at previous jobs, and it is not fun! So sorry!
So sorry. I know how you feel. I am so glad I have my own office now, so I can choose, for the most part, what noises I want to hear.
@ lilyfaith - If you worked with this woman, you would totally understand. She JUST left (she gets here and leaves an hour before me) so aaahhh.. the next hour should be relatively peaceful lol. I feel so mean, but OH MY WORD. I don't talk a whole lot, talking actually kind of exhausts me, and just listening to her practically makes my brain bleed.
Oh, and btw, I can sort of sympathize with your roommate. I have the tiny coughs and the throat clearing too. Not constantly, it comes and goes, but this week has been really bad. I don't know whether it's allergies or post nasal drip (gross I know) but I hate it. It's not fun (to listen to OR to have ;)
I totally understand. It's hard to focus on work when that happens. I'm not sure if some people are just hard of hearing and talk loudly for that reason, or if it's personality in general, but it's no fun!
I think my biggest problem with my roommate is that it annoys her boyfriend (I assume) because when it's worst she comes out into the living room, presumably not to bother him. Only issue? The living room shares a wall with our bedroom! I kid you not, I had my iHome and the humidifier going and could not concentrate on a paper the other night, and she stayed out there until 2 am.
try throwing a stapler at her head. that may shut her up.
just kidding.
@ Clair - LOL! Um.. that was funny. Thanks for the laugh cuz it's been a very stressful day!
I know what you mean! Just try to ignore her and give her short one word answers. Or let her know that it is really disrupting your work and concentrations

There is a woman that I work with that talks NONSTOP. She is VERY loud, VERY obnoxious, and so NOT professional. She never EVER gets tired of hearing herself.
Can I go home now?
