Okay, girls, I need your help.... By the looks of it, Im gonna be on the green pills on my honeymoon, and I have no idea how to manipulate it back without throuwing EVERYTHING off.... i also ONLY have 2 more cycles until the wedding. :(

I was thinking of starting my next set of pills inbetween the green ones so that it would make it so I didn't have a period, but is that safe to let the green pills not cycle out completely?

By green pills I assume you mean sugar pills/placebos.  I would advise just skipping them this time and starting a new pack and then having your period the next time.  That should work, but PLEASE give your OB/GYN a call and check first!

    green pills = placebo, right?

You can skip the placebo pills altogether.  It's perfectly safe to intentionally skip a period every once in a while.  Just start sooner with the BC pills instead of taking the placebos.

It is perfectly safe to skip your period every once in a while.  However, if you do this, be prepared for some spotting/light bleeding during your cycle... good luck!

You can skip your period by starting the new pack instead of the green pills. BUT in my experience, for the new pack you have to be *very* consistent on the time you take your pills to avoid spotting or a heavy cycle the next month. I would recommend only doing during the month of your honeymoon and not for more that. Even better, like hotchild said, check w/your dr. first if you're unsure!

I also said check with your dr. because everyone's pills are different.  I used to take these weird BC pills where you only took like 4 placebo pills a month but they were almost the same color.  So always safer to check.  An RN will be able to help you over the phone.

I had the same issue with only 2 cycles to fix it, too.  Instead of skipping a cycle, I moved mine up by a week.  I skipped the last 4 of my active pills to get it to start early.  Then I started a new pack mid-week (one week later).  On that pack, I skipped the last 3 active pills and started a new pack a week later, which put me back on my Sunday-start schedule.  I was able to move mine up by a week instead of skipping it and possibly dealing with spotting.  Worked great for me, good luck!

I personally prefer the method of starting my period a month early rather than taking the pills right through. So take 2 weeks of pills stop get your period and start up again and now your period will come a week before the honeymoon!

This really depends on your type of pills!  Definitely call your doctor!  I am on Ortho-tricyclen and I had the same issue as you - my doctor told me to take two packs at once; week one followed by week one (2 weeks of white), week two followed by week two (2 weeks of light blue), week three followed by week three (2 weeks of dark blue) and then the week of green.  Tricyclen pills work the way they do by adding higher amounts of hormone, and then the sudden drop with the green pills causes your "period".  So even if you take your third week and then your first week skipping placebos, you are likely to still get a "period" with the drop in hormones from week 3 to week 1.

Some of the things mentioned above might work on your pill, some might not.  Ask a medical pro for sure!

I would be careful about doing what lily.dsm did.  You shouldn't skip any of the 3 weeks of active pills if you are using the birth control pills for birth control.  That can make the pills less effective and it will take an entire month cycle for the pills to be effective again.

When I was on BC I skipped period for important events or weekend trips often.  Just make sure that you only do it once in a while--I abused it, did it for 2 cycles instead of 1, and had a period anyway when it was supposed to be "skipped."

Oh gosh, just be careful!  Not to scare you, but I tried this before and all it did was make me have my period on the normal day only a lil lighter and it lasted like 2 weeks!  But, my body doesn't like change so it could of just been revolting, who knows?

I've done this twice now once when we went to Italy and then once when we went to Cozmel.  I didn't want to have to worry with finding a bathroom which can be very hard in some countries.  I.e. Italy!

What I did was skip the placebo row of pills and instead took the first row of active pills in my next pack.  I didn't have any problems.  No spotting and no heavy period the next go around.  But everyone is different.

it definately makes a difference on what type of BC pills you take - i hate periods so i skip my sugar pills consistently and have about 1 or 2 periods a year. usually when my body decides its time for one LOL but its super nice not to have to worry about pads all the time.

call your Gyno and ask them if your pills you are currently on are okay for continuous use, or what the best method is for your type of pill. if its okay to skip the sugar pills for the next two months the other girls are right, you have to be VERY CONSISTENT on the time you take the pill or your body will start your period.

Your gyno will know what method will work best, but it's pretty easy to switch up your cycle. However, if it is the first time you're doing it, you could still spot so keep that in mind. HTH
