I'm using pom pom dahlias! I wanted really modern flowers, and the poms seemed to fit the bill perfectly. The BMs will be only poms in orange (with plum dresses) and my bouquet will look something like this (with more poms) on a smaller scale:

I just read a really cool article in Mother Earth News today about how dahlias (flowers and tuber roots) are edible. Who knew? Not that you should eat your bouquets, or anything... 
Make sure that the flowers you want are in season. A friend of mine loved those hawaiian flowers. Their was a flood and caused a delay in shipment, so her flowers were 2 days late!
Hi there! My Maid of Honor was married in June and she had dahlia's as her main flower. Our bouquets were gorgeous and I'm just sad I don't have a photo of her bouquet to share with you. She had dahlia's with spider mums. She also had dahlias as favors in small vases. Enjoy!

Hi! I got married last October and knew that dahlias would be a perfect flower for fall, so we used them exclusively in my bridesmaids' bouquets. I thought they turned out beautiful! Here are a few pics.

My sister had dahlias for her wedding decoration theme and they looked really beautiful. I love dahlias too
I love them! I am always partial to hydrangeas, but if my florist tells me those won't keep then dahlias are definitely part of my back up plan!
I love dahlias! I'm kind of obsessed with Arabian Nights Dahlias right now, but those poms were so stinkin' cute. I adore the way dahlias and spider mums look together!

I think Mr. S will get some sort of small white pom for his boutonnier...not only are dahlias beautiful, but they're pretty reasonably priced and very hearty flowers!

I'm totally smitten -- and will be using dahlias throughout our wedding. Can't wait to see the arrangements, bouquets...and then photos of them, too!
I'm using dahlias for my wedding in 3 weeks and I can't wait! I happen to fall in love with them by chance last year when a co-worker brought in a bouquet from her garden. I love these pictures.

Ooooh I love them! I was just visiting Portland and happened upon a farmer's market where the dahlias were everywhere. They're the most beautiful vibrant colors!
We went to the farmers market this past saturday and I pulled out a huge yellow dinner plate dahlia, as big as my head! For a Dollar! Mr. BW instantly decided on them, he liked them so much! However, our wedding is in July, will they be around then- does any one know? My favorite is the Cafe au lait, so pretty!
I love them! As of now, I don't think any are going to be found in my wedding, unless I can work in the pom dahlias somehow, because they are just so darn CUTE!

I want to use dahlias SO BAD but my florist told me they are not guaranteed after October...and my wedding happens to be just 7 days outside of October...7 DAYS!!! She did say that if we have an indian summer they could be available, the first freeze is usually the end of them.
i didn't even know what dahlias were when i went to my first florist. she had to show me pix. i had reservations about them in my bouquet.. but sometime in the past few weeks, i fell in love with them! i'm glad i chose to include this flower i didnt know! :)
I wanted to use dahlias (a few black ones) for my B&W and green wedding but they're out of season :( SOB
My grandfather used to grow the prettiest dahlias! I will be using them in my wedding in honor and memory of him.
eek! I just discovered pom pom dahlias and now plan to use them for our bouquets and boutonniers. They'll go perfectly with our diy tissue pom poms and yarn pom poms! I love love love them; they're so adorable! some inspiration pics:

I went to a bridal show a few weeks ago and saw a beautiful bouquet with dahlias in it and it was at THAT moment I decided I wanted them in mine as well.
