Welcome, classysolo! I believe there's another user on this board... sweetkate who was married at Paradise Park this just summer. I bet she would be a really great resource for you on pricing! If you are looking for other beach locations, you could also try Sand Harbor or Round Hill, both of which are very nice beaches and reasonably priced.
You're dress is beautiful! I definitely don't think it's too formal for a beach wedding. I also really like your bm dresses. Very pretty!
If you are looking for vendors, or need more information about certain vendors, you should check out this thread. Several of us Lake Tahoe brides posted our vendor information, so there's a ton to pick from. Mostly, though, welcome! And tell us if you have any questions; we're all here to help!
oooh we have a timeshare in tahoe and were seriously considering doing it there. you're gonna have so much fun! i would love to take the party down to the casinos afterwards! haha. and as for formality, i've seen both ends of the spectrum and they each seemed to fit, so go with what you want/envision!
Welcome Classy! We have a list of vendors we all used as Mrs. Spring pointed out... Tahoe weddings are so beautiful!
I should say that my dress was way more formal than my venue, though it blended seamlessly in the end!
The dress is what you make of it. Lakeside would be a perfect wedding gown go for what YOU want!!!
Thanks all for the kind words! I've mailed Sweetkate, but she must be away since I haven't heard back.
Quick update: I just got the info I requested from Thran's Flowers. They don't email information, only snail mail. It came nicely wrapped, but the numbers inside were too scary for a budget bride. Though I'm sure the information is everywhere, I'd be happy to share prices with anyone who messages me.
As soon as I can get some info about Paradise Park, I'll schedule a visit back home and check out a ton of places. Of course everyone gets free updates!
I went with Thran's as well, for my flowers. :) Their prices are a little higher than other places, but in my opinion, the work is also higher quality. If you really like their work, you might want to make a consultation appointment with them before totally counting them out. By asking for some cheaper flower substitutes and some discounts, Katy (who owns Thran's) was able to give me some substantial savings. The initial prices might turn you off a little bit, but I would definitely say they are willing to work with you on price. If you do make an appointment, PM me and I'd be happy to give you details about what I paid and what they discounted for me. :)
If you are looking for other places in South Lake, though, you could also check out The Enchanted Florist, Blake's Floral Design, and Rose Petals. Or maybe try DIYing your flowers or ordering form a grocery store to save cash!
Wow! You ladies are awesome! My friend recommended Wedding Bee because I'm a nervous bride and she said it would calm me down to be on here. The best advice I ever took! I'm planning for my wedding in South Tahoe for next summer, although my fiance and I both have never been there! It's quite a challenge to plan everything via the internet and trusting pictures and reviews to pick out places. We decided to get married at St. Theresa's, with the reception at Edgewood. It's been terrific to read up on all the vendor suggestions on here. Can any of you recommend some bands? Also, our wedding is on a Thursday night, and we were hoping to indulge in the Tahoe nightlife for Friday night with all our friends and family. Any ideas on where we should go? Are there clubs in the hotels?

Sorry, there are no users yet.
Just trashed all my bay area plans and I'm coming home to Tahoe to get hitched! Super stoked, since this is what I've really wanted to do the whole time.
Working with a budget of about $16000 for absolutely everything. Totally reasonable.
Venue: Thinking about Paradise Park. I've heard good things and Steve is a family friend. But he's on vacay right now and there isn't much information available online. I don't know what the fees are for the ceremony/reception/rentals, etc. Anyone know what this comes to for a Saturday afternoon?
Other options: Tahoe Keys private beach with a reception in our backyard. Regan beach is cheap, but I hear they book up really fast, so I'm not expecting much.
Dress: Is this one too formal for beach/lake? It's what I had picked out for a bay area garden ceremony. http://www.all4bride.com/images/wedgowns/2303.jpg

Cake: Either Flour Girl or Raley's, where an old friend works (yey for the hookups!)
Makeup: DIY
Hair: I never found anyone really good with fine curly hair. Any thoughts?
Everything else, no idea!
Don't be afraid to be critical of my ideas. I really have no idea what I'm doing.
Night, ladies!
