If anyone didn’t buy shoes just for their wedding? I am wearing a pair of heels that I have worn for serveral things, including my own prom and as a guess to weddings. I see no problem in it for they still look really nice. I have three reason why I am not buying a new pair.
One I don’t really wear heels unless I am attending something that calls to be a bit more dresses up which is not that often;
Two I am not the most graceful and I know I can walk/dance in these shoes;
Three after our dances(first dance, father/daughter, and wedding party) I plan on taking them off and going barefoot(my most common/confortable way of being).
I am just curious if anyone else is/have gone this way?
I would love to go completely barefoot but I am 5’6 and FI is 6’5 so there is a good height difference so heels help with that lol.

I bought a new pair of shoes but they are flats which is really unusal for me since I wear heels majority of the time.

I love shoes….so it was the perfect excuse to buy some more LOL!!

I bought a new pair, but that’s because I knew all my current heels wouldn’t be that comfortable for that long a day. (Not to mention they are mainly black and I knew I wanted to wear a colored heel.)
But I say do what you want. It’s your day!

@rmrsln2010: I bought a new pair but only because I didn’t have any other “evening” shoes. While I do wear high heels quite often, they are definitely more suited for a work/business environment and I think would look quite strange with a wedding dress!
I *wish* I had a pair I already owned. I would so much rather have a pair that’s already broken in. I’m a detail-noticer at people’s weddings, and I don’t think I’ve ever even seen a bride’s shoes. So I wish I could have skipped the expense!

@leahthehun: If I didn’t have them I would but I agree I have never seen the brides shoes at the wedding unless she had a tea-lenght dress on.
These are my shoes.

@curlybride2012: That’s part of the reason why I am sticking to these shoes even if I decide to wear them longer they don’t kill my feet lol. Everyone should do whatever they like for their own wedding I’m just curious to what others are I find it interesting.

I say do whatever makes you happy. I have an unusual size, so I only own about two pairs of wearable shoes at a time. I will not be wearing either pair for my wedding, so I’m splurging on a pair of nice shoes, and plan to go with Shoes of Prey. Looking for suitable wedding shoes in my size has been completely fruitless, so this is pretty much my only option.

@rmrsln2010: I bought a new pair but i fully intend to wear them again. Maybe to a different wedding this summer (they aren’t white)

I bought a new pair and then sold them after the wedding to another bride. It was a win-win situation. 🙂

@rmrsln2010: I was going to wear my 4-year-old hot red heels till my FH let me know he didn’t particularly like the pop-of-color idea. So I did end up buying some cheaper shoes from DSW that match my dress better 🙂

@rmrsln2010: I don’t wear heels often, so I’m using my wedding as an excuse to buy some nice designer heels. I’m buying them in cobalt because it’s one of my favorite colors, so I can see myself wearing them for future dress-up occasions. Plus, it’ll be fun to be reminded of my wedding day when I wear them in the future 🙂 By the time the dancing is in full swing, I’m sure I’ll either have switched to some comfy flats or be barefoot.

I bought a few pairs, but none of them were terribly expensive.

I bought a new pair because I didn’t have any that would’ve gone with my tea length dress. My fiance just bought me a pair of teal flats for the reception, too, so I don’t have to be in heels all night. I love him.

I bought a new pair. My normal shoe collection is black and nude flats, black and nude heels, and a pair of black boots. Not very wedding-y.
