Hmmmm... my suggestion would be pick a theme of some sort. something that you can use for a basis to build off of.
As for table decorations, you could get glasses (wine, goblet, shot glasses, etc) and fill them with candy or gems or beaded necklaces (think mardi-gras type necklaces). I'd go with candy or gems, personally... you get a cut centerpiece AND the guests can nibble. not to mention you can use 'em later. Or go with bowls filled with paper flowers or fabric flowers (you can usually get tissue paper cheap as well as fabric on sale for $1/yd)
You could use wildflowers that you pick from fields or along the roads prior to the wedding (take the wedding party of a flower-picking outing!) and use salsa/jam/food jars or glasses. Or even bottles of some sort.
You could use flower blooms (again, wildflowers) and scatter them around the candles. Or even leaves and/or branches/boughs from evergreen trees/bushes.
hope this helps!!! good luck!!!
maybe you're right and you should just take a break from planning and wedding magazines. clear your head and just let inspiration come to you. like they say...sometimes you find it when you're not looking.
I don't know the feeling of what your wedding is to be like, but maybe this would help?
If you have (white?) pillar candles?? What about putting a ribbon around them, or a "belly band"?
Something like this??

here's some instruction for similar with paper strips and ribbon?

My first thought was for your centerpieces -
You said green was one of your colors? You could fill hurricane vases with water and sliced limes like this:

You can get hydrangeas really cheap at a wholesale flower place or don't use a flower at all and use floating tea lights on top. Surround the vase with votives in canning jars (20 pint size canning jars are $20 at walmart) and scatter some wooden/dried florals like this
These are sola wood flowers from Save-On-Crafts.com and they're 12 for 3.99
How's that?
@pat291: haha yea I might have set up the thread a little bit :P
@peasantsong: I love the wooden flowers! I've never seen those before, I'm sure I can use them somewhere! I think I'm putting hydrangeas in my bouquet and they look lovely in that picture but my FI thinks sliced fruit in jars is ridiculous, hah. Thanks for the suggestions though maybe I can do fake hydrangeas in green vases?
@rlsulli1598@verizon.net: thanks for the suggestions, I'm not into the belly bands because they end up looking like unity candles to me, but maybe along the bottom?
Either way I'm taking a break because I have a horrible obsessive personality and once I'm into something I never stop... gives me a headache! Maybe I'll just start sketching stuff. It's like I'm constantly searching for that one image that will tell me exactly what my wedding will be.

of the wedding! Now that my dress is different, I want to go in a little different direction, and I think I've seen so many pictures and so many styles that I'm just overloaded! I still don't know what to do about centerpieces, FI claims he doesn't care but then tells me he doesn't like my ideas... I'm just so stumped. We know our colors, and I'm happy with them (blue purple and green, all shades) but other than that I've got no clue! We have no flower budget (NONE) so we were going to do lots of candles, but I don't know how to spruce them up. I don't like the giant vases filled with water and flowers and floating candles, but I don't want a table with just some candles, seems so plain. And then where do all these pretty accessories go? I feel like all these "style me pretty" (just as an example cause theyre over the top) pictures that show all these personal touches are just randomly placed, do I just have tables full of random pretty crap? I don't get it! I just keep flipping through page after page hoping for some real inspiration but I just see random pretty stuff. I think I need a break from this whole planning thing...
