TiaMP:

I’m so sorry you’re going through this right now.  I know where you are, my grandmother and I were best friends and I lost her 10 years ago.  It does get easier (I know that means nothing now) and your last sentence is very telling.  Not everyone has the great fortune of knowing their grandparents the way you do.  Take pride and comfort in that <3

TiaMP:

How awful to be losing someone you have such a special bond with, may you enjoy the time you have left with him.

So sorry for the terrible news, I will keep you in my thoughts.

TiaMP:  I’m so sorry 🙁 Doesn’t help at all I know but he isn’t gone yet. His last weeks should be spent with loving family and hopefully you can spend a lot of time with him. Again, this is awful and I’m so sorry 🙁

TiaMP:  I am very sorry this is happening. Jumping into say I was inthe exact same situation – my grandfather was my closest family member and he passed from pancreatic cancer as well 🙁 Although he was 91, I was only 18. I wish I had more time with him. Cherish your time right now!!!!!

TiaMP:  You got me all teary eyed over here. The way you describe your grandfather makes him sound so wonderful. I’m so sorry you don’t have a lot of time left with him. I also lost my grandpa to cancer before I was ready to let him go. It’s hard but you just have to hold onto all those wonderful memories you two shared. He will always be in your heart. Sending you hugs!

TiaMP:  I am so sorry to hear this.

A classmate of mine passed away earlier this year of the same thing. It came to a shock all of us.  (we have been out of high school over 20 years now) but always have been a close class even afterwards.  It is very hard to deal with and we all deal with this in own way.

TiaMP:  I’m so sorry.  Sending hugs.  Enjoy the time you have left with him.  He will forever live in your heart, as my grandfather has for the many years he has been gone.  Special grandfathers are truly a treasure.

TiaMP:

*hug* My condolences dear. I am glad that you have your husband’s shoulder to lean on during this difficult time.

When we have positive male role models, they give us a standard by which we hold all the men in our lives thereafter.

This post actually made me tear up kind of a lot, and I didn’t even have super close relationships with my grandparents. I’m so sorry that this is happening and wish that you (and he) didn’t have to go through this. My thoughts are with you. I hope that the time you have left with him is filled with happiness and memories that will last you a lifetime.
