If you can be bothered to read…let me know any changes you would make. And thanks for reading!!
It’s a little unconventional for the Bride to make a speech, but I think there’s no better day for me to say just a few things to some really important people. I promise to keep it short.
Firstly I wanted to say to thank you to ___ and ____. I honestly couldn’t have hoped to become part of a kinder, more welcoming family than yours. You have played a large part in making today possible and I personally wanted to say thank you. Not just for today, but for making me feel like a valued member of your family right from the start. I couldn’t feel luckier to be a part of it.
To my friends who have travelled some distance to be here, it’s a testament to the kind of friends you are that you’re here, celebrating with us today. When we wrote our guest list back in May of last year, I told (FI) that my numbers were not going to change because I knew that whatever it would take, you would be here. I know that however much time may pass or whatever distance may lie between us, that we will always be good friends.
To FI…you tell me every day that I’m lucky to have you!! And we laugh and make a joke of it. But I am lucky to have you. I want you to know that I recognise all the amazing qualities you have and that I appreciate them. I’m still excited to see you at the end of every day and I can’t imagine doing any of this with anybody else. I’m really proud to be your wife.
Finally, the real reason for speaking today was to recognise two very important people. My mum and sister are two incredible women. They have been, and will always be, my best friends. They have been there to shoulder the pain when the worst has happened. They’ve been first in line to celebrate my successes. They’ve been my voice of reason when I’ve made some terrible decisions, have been honest even when I didn’t want to hear it, and bailed me out every time I hit the end of my overdraft!!! Today is the perfect opportunity for me to tell everybody that I am so incredibly lucky to have them both in my life and to thank them for everything they have done for me. I love you both more than you know.
Please everybody raise their glasses…to ____ and ___.
