Weddingbee boards

I've been waiting until I got some pictures back to do a recap, and I finally got some pros! My wedding was amazing. We managed to keep my DH from seeing me until the moment I walked down the aisle, so I had that moment we both wanted. I was so nervous walking down the aisle, and my to-be husband was crying (only a little), so I had to look away or I'd burst into tears too. By the time I got to the altar, my bridesmaids were all crying too. The whole wedding was over a chorus of sniffles from the bridal party, and I loved it.

My DH's vows stunned our guests and me. He's not terribly emotional, but his vows were really deep, so they surprised everyone. I am so happy that you girls told me that the best weddings are the ones where the bride and groom look completely in love. At the reception, I had a woman take me aside and tell me, crying, that in all her 60 years, she's never been to a wedding as romantic and heartfelt as ours. I had been worried people wouldn't enjoy it because there was no alcohol or dancing, but people seemed to really enjoy it, and they all mentioned how personal and sincere it was.

A few things went wrong. They didn't use our cake topper. DH and I have the same initials (pre and post-wedding) so I wanted just the first and last initial on the cake. They were there, but the bakery delivered some random cake topper, and nobody switched them. Whatever. My mother was late to the church, and I didn't want to get dressed without her, so we only had 15 minutes for pictures of me and my girls before the wedding. My dad thought I was the person to ask about how to deal with the vendors afterward. I had to tell him 3 times during the reception, "Ask someone else what to do with the cake stand. I don't know, and I'm not gonna find out." At one point he came up to me at the reception asking, "Where are the cupcakes?!" I was never gonna have cupcakes. Haha. Apparently I missed only a few guests, so that wasn't bad. Oh, and I didn't like my bouquet. But none of that really mattered that day. Haha.

Overall, we had so much fun. The best part was that after the wedding, and after we'd finished our pictures, we had 2 hours to chill at the hotel before meeting our friends for dinner. We spent it relaxing and talking about how happy we were. It was just really good to have time to reflect together before it was all over.

Thank you! It's funny, neither he nor I really display excitement or happiness all that well, so it's rare that we look as happy as we feel. People actually make fun of our lack of expression.

@likelimeade:  I think the florist said Eskimo Roses. She also sprinkled some blue silk hydrangeas around in the bouquet. I thought they'd be whiter and more open, but it's all good. I have a better picture of it somewhere...
