Side note: Koda (big dog) was blessed in this church as a little pup, so it was awesome going back there.
If anyone still wedding planning reads this, my biggest piece of advice is go with your gut, and pick your battles. At the end of the day a lot of little things didn’t matter. I don’t remember what anyone wore, I didn’t even see the blankets I so carefully put together, and I completely missed our ‘passing of the flame’ ceremony!
Some things I was pretty firm on were: the entire menu was to be friendly to all guest allergies, mild enough for everyone to be comfortable, and animal products were to be free range. We kept a traditional ceremony service, but wherever it said ‘between a man and a woman’ (eg marriage is between a man and a woman who love each other) I changed it to ‘between two people’ (equality, yo!). All my hair and makeup used cruelty free products. This all makes me feel SO much better about our day. Don’t let anyone tell you you’re a diva, or you’re being fussy. Trust your gut!

garnobella : Absolutely lovely! I LOVE your puppers! They are so stinking cute.
The picture with the robes looks very much like some robes I’m considering ordering for my bridal party. May I ask where you ordered from and how you liked them? My wedding is in August, so I want to be mindful of ordering a fabric that won’t cling or be uncomfortable while getting ready. Thank you!

mrsaime : Thank you! 😊
singingbee5 : Thank you! The robes are from Redcurrant in NZ. I absolutely despise the satin robes that say ‘bridesmaid’, so my mum found these gorgeous cotton ones in store. Even though it was winter we were able to put the hotel heater on. They didn’t cling to us, they were comfortable and light, and super pretty. I’m already getting a heap of wear out of mine, and the girls loved them too. I’ve seen similar on Etsy, but I would definitely recommending paying the extra and getting nice robes if you can 😊

I dont know when I have ever seen better pictures , the formal and the informal. I love the one taken from the priest’s vantage point , of you two facing the altar.
And of course the dearest dogs.
