the first time I forgot my engagement ring (just a couple of days after i got engaged) I had an absolute meltdown!
I called my fiance (now hubby) bawling and saying that if I wasn't even responsible enough to remember to put on my engagement ring than I was probably too irresponsible to be married!
I was a wreck!
he was very sweet and told me it was just a piece of metal with some sparkly stones (that cost him lots of $$), and that it didn't mean weren't engaged just because I wasn't wearing it.
But i hated every minute of it (and have still forgotten it several times since)
Do you take your rings off often? I almost never take mine off, so I'd freak out if I forgot them someplace. I actually need to get my engagement ring resized, but I don't want to be without it. I guess now that I have my wedding band, at least I won't feel totally naked! ;)

No I hardly ever take them off, but my fingers were puffy after my run this morning and my fingers needed a break. I was *thisclose* to turning around and going back to get them after I left the house but traffic was bad enough I would have been really late.

oh goodness, its such a weird feeling huh? I freak out even after taking it off to get it cleaned, my pea-sized brain forgets about it after 5 mins of dropping it off and I look at my hand and my stomach drops because I think I have lost it....then I remember!
I took mine off the other day for an art project (i really didnt want to try and get spray paint off my ring) and then I showered and went to bed. i woke up in the middle of the night FREAKING out because I wasn't wearing my rings and didnt know why. A few minutes later I fully woke up and rememberd why and where I had taken them off. There they were safe and sound, and my husband was very confused at 3 am. :)
I've only forgotten it once. Luckily it was before we had gotten too far from home so FI turned around and got it for me! I feel naked without my ring!
I travel between offices in two different states, and I once forgot to put my e-ring on before leaving for a week long trip to the other office. It was really just a 'I'm leaving for the airport at 5am and I'm not awake' mistake. Since I was so newly engaged, I saw people glancing down at my hand and I kept having to say 'I'm still engaged, I forgot the ring in NY'. I almost started a rumor about myself!
@Hobochic - 3 people have asked me today why I'm not wearing it!

I forgot my rings at home this morning. I hate being without them and I feel so exposed!
