Start planning your wedding? My first step was finding a venue and going from there.

mzraybaybee:  Well, first you may want to figure out your budget amount. And your likely number of guests.  Then season/date.  What type/style of wedding you both want.  Then you can look for a venue and photographer and gown.

Enjoy being engaged! Then when you are ready to start planning, get a notebook from the wedding section in a bookstore or on Amazon. They are full off all the checklists that you’ll need.  Start with budget, then guestlist, then start looking at venues. And have fun!

lcutter711:  definitely agree with this!

OP just take it slow, figure out your budget first like people have said, and then pick your vendor, and hope they have the date you want.  I didn’t have an actual wedding so i can’t help you past that.

Set a date, or time of year. Come up with a savings plan and budget. Then start scoping out venues.

Most of all congratulations! Relax, and enjoy the newly engaged status!

Marriage! That’s what FI wanted me to type.

You should enjoy your newly engaged status! It’s a way exciting time! I would also recommend thinking about potential venues and other things that may need to be scheduled as they can book up quickly.
