ooooooooo this is awesome!
I love when guys suggest going to look at rings!
You want to go buy a ring when he's willing to make you your very own glitter-fied zip tie? Made with LOVE!
He sounds nice and silly, just like mine.
@jumpthegun: right?! a glitterfied ziptie. my dream!
@newenglandgirl: we are going to make it part of our xmas shopping adventure on saturday. we are going to load up on starbucks hot chocolate and finish up our last minute gift shopping and then go to some jewelry stores so he can get educated on whats what lol. so even though its not a "pick out a ring" trip its a step closer to making it official. I am in no rush and am loving every minute of this and every little step we take towards finally being married.
Sounds like a guy with a good sense of humor HAHA...your "bumble bee friends". Have fun ring shopping, fellow bumble bee.
@Nellular: lol that was my favorite part! my bumble bee friends....geez.
@stardustintheeyes: Hot chocolate and looking at jewelery sounds like a great day to me! Me and my SO aren't even in the "look at rings together" stage yet. I don't really consider myself waiting but I look at rings online and then tell him I found more "sparkly sparkles" that I like and then he asks to see them haha. So I completely understand not being in a rush but a step in that direction is always exciting...and now I am sitting at my desk dreaming about mint hot chocolate.
@newenglandgirl: mmmmmm mint hot chocolate. saturday needs to get here already!
I am starting to think I should reward myself for going to the gym after work with a cup tonight. I have to drive by Dunkin Donuts anyway..
@newenglandgirl: good plan!!! i really want a peppermint mocha from starbucks. i think ill have a liquid lunch today lol
Haha, your SO has sure got a sense of humor! ...Glittery zip-tie. :)
I feel like something similar to this has come out of my mouth... especially for making me wait so long. Haha.
me: ummm...... now its not that i need an expensive ring but i swear to baby jesus if you text me a proposal for real or leave a damn zip tie under my pillow ill throw myself on the floor and have an all out meltdown......but ill still say yes :). i cant even believe you would come up with that.
@aquawater: a sense of humor indeed. he is the king of inappropriate comments and one liners. he is so that guy that if there is a line to be crossed, he will most definitely cross it. But, i will say this, he's hilarious. this is him being his normal sarcastic self :) but i love his sense of humor. it fits me and us really well.
@stardustintheeyes: That sounds awesomely exciting, enjoy ring shopping, you may find it hard to choose but believe me when you see the 'one' you will know it (bit like our partners I guess, haha)
I hope he has his wallet with him when you go ;)

ok so i have technically been "waiting" for a little while now since we had the talk and i knew we both wanted marriage. I have been a bit more vocal in recent weeks about what kind of ring i would want and all that. I sent him a real well thought out email (at his request) stating the things i wanted in a ring. he made sure to tell me it was just so that he knew and that it did not mean a ring and official proposal was in the works but he thought it would be good to know. that was fine by me since im content with where we are in our relationship. So a bit of a funny story from last night in regards to a ring and proposal...
Me: so what did you think of the type of ring i was describing in my email?
him: eh...I dont really know what any of that stuff means. I mean Ill have help or whatever so its ok. But really i had my own ideas about how to handle this and i htink i figured out a way to make this as easy and quick as possible
me: (already nervous to hear his plan) oh ....really....how is that?
him: well see i was thinkin ill just get you a zip tie. like a nice one though and ill even throw some glitter on it to make it all sparkly. ill leave it under your pillow a la the tooth fairy and then ill send you a text on a random weekday night telling you to go under your pillow. then ill ask via text and you can say yes. awesome right?! i mean i wont have to save for the zip tie and how many girls can say their guy proposed via text?! it will be an original story for all your bumble bee friends and your other girlfriends. see? that works. done and done.
me: ummm...... now its not that i need an expensive ring but i swear to baby jesus if you text me a proposal for real or leave a damn zip tie under my pillow ill throw myself on the floor and have an all out meltdown......but ill still say yes :). i cant even believe you would come up with that.
him: hahahahahahahaha!!! no i wouldnt for real do that. unless you had agreed to it hahahhaha!! ok ok ok im done. i swear, no zipties or text proposals.
me: ok good
him: as a matter of fact lets go look at rings this weekend so i know what the hell you are talking about because i really dont as of now.
me: *does a happy dance*
even if an official proposal is not coming very soon im still excited that we get to make our first official ring shopping trip :D
