    hello!

i apologize if i will sound rude and sometimes non appropriate but i need to vent this out!!!!

how come that IT IS MY FREAGGIN WEDDING and everyone needs to get in shape!!!!!!!!!! WTF!!!!! for real!!!!

well i l am not overweight and im not really skinny either..im a size 10 with curves...anyways, in the past year i gained aboaut 10 pounds that i like to call happy fat! whatever.. im trying to lose these pounds but it is not really working out that well..well i have always eaten healthy, BUT i have an awful sweet tooth! after every meal i need something sweet! UGH! but for the past month i cut off on sweet...mostly.. adn i started exercising 3-4 times a week..so hopefully i will be able to look a little more decent on my wedding day... yeah i cut on portions and stuff, cut the sweets out but sometimes i really need to cheat (thats why my diet is not working out that well)... what annoyies me the most is that everyone is dieting and getting in shape for my wedding! why????? WHY?????? WWWWWHHHHHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYY???????????????????????????????/

im not freacking Madonna, or the queen of England and im not having celebrities or tvs on my wedding date!!! so why they want to diet?? and clearly all these people dont need to diet because theay are all already skinny!!! so why?? god explain me this?? there is nothing more annoying when people say"im fat" when clearly their not! UUUUUUGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i know i should be happy that everyone wants to look good on my wed day, but it really annoyies me because clearly i wont lose those pounds and im not seeing results, and then am i the on who is supposed to be in the center of the attention????

sorry for my really SOUR MOOD, it could be that time of the month too..im just really stressed and tired and i cant wait for all this planning to be over...

i though it was supposed to fun and everything, but there is always someone who drags you down..

oh well... i vented it out..so i should be ok...

thanks for reading this stupid post and sorry!

awww i understand your frustration, it's YOUR day and YOU want to BE FABULOUS!!!

my bm's have started tanning and working out and growing out there hair and i'm not even getting married until september!!

honestly, just take it with a grain of salt and as flattery that they want to look good for you on your day! you'll still be the star and be the most beautiful on YOUR DAY!

I know how you feel!  My mom hired a personal trainer, my FMIL joined a gym, and one of my bridesmaids joined a gym too, because they all want to get in shape.  While I sit here and eat ice cream, haha.

I'm sorry you're pissed that they want to look good for your big day but I think you need to look at it as moral support.  My mom and two aunts have joined a gym with me so that I have some to workout with and try to stay motivated.

Aww, I feel your pain... I have a terrible sweet tooth too.  Gets me every time!  I have started either chewing gum or drinking water with the crystal light packet to try to curb that a little.

I would just consider it flattering that people in your life think that you and your wedding are so important that they want to look their best at it. :)

I totally understand being frustrated at wanting to lose weight but not seeing results, it can be really hard.  How long have you been at the "working out 3-4 days a week, cutting portions and sweets" thing?  I would def keep at it- you might not see results right away but you WILL get there, it just takes a little time to "trick" your body into losing some of its weight.

You aren't Madonna? Well sheesh that's the only reason I read the thread, I thought you were Madonna Tongue out

In all seriousness I totally understand how you feel but I also understand others wanting to look good since they will be participating in your wedding. My sister is MOH and started working out just a bit more since she also has to walk down the aisle with people staring at her. She's not trying to look better than me or steal my thunder she just wants to look her best for pictures and herself and I totally couldn't be happier for her is she loses the weight she wants.

I had to go on a low carb crash diet for two weeks before my sister's wedding cause I was ready to bust out of the dress.  It worked :)

Sweet tooth here.  Maybe the other gals are trying to get in shape because they're in the wedding party and will be in pics?  Or maybe they're some single friends who think they'll meet a guy there or something.  Maybe you can enlist their aid to help keep you on track.  Have dinner dates with them.  Make sure you all eat healthy meals.  Go walking/jogging/work out to buns of steel, with them.

And above all else, post pics of those skinny *** girls in your kitchen.  You know, when you're looking for some ice cream.  ;)  Although you might have some explaining to do if they see their faces on your cookie jar or something.

I think they are probably just jealous you are getting married and want to try to get attention any way they can.  I have friends like this.

I would not completely cut things you love out of your diet.  If you do, you just want them more and will binge later on them.

    This is what works...

Cut down on the carbs and sugar.  Replace pop with water, Do fun workouts like ZUMBA or something else that does not really feel like a workout.  Eat tons of fruits & veggies and yogurt.  minimize red meat & fried foods.  The most important thing is moderation.  I love pop but if I added all those calories I would blow up.  So i make myslef drink water at work and during the week.  if i go out to dinner on the weekend and I am craving a coke, I go for it.  For me, I think eating very healthy during the week and letting yourself cheat on the weekends works.  You don;t feel as deprived and it is all about moderation.

    hope this helps!

My parents are trying to get in shape for my wedding. I think that it is good because my daddy and both of my FH's parents are diabetic so this may motivate them.

Just like Miss Root, I use sugar free gum to curb my cravings.  I gave up sweets for Lent and it has been one of the hardest things ever!  I have a serious sweet tooth (ice cream nightly, a cookie with lunch) but now I've realized how those things aren't necessary.  It's also forced me to fill in those calories with extra fruit and veggies.

Hey Bimba, I totally understand. My BM's are all hiring personal trainers/working out at the gym siince I asked them to be BM's. AND my FMIL had a tummy tuck and is working out in preparation for the wedding. And in the meanwhile, I work really long hours and don't have time to work out myself. So it frustrates me that everyone else is devoting all this time to making their bodies look better while I sit here and stare at a computer screen for almost 10 hours a day.

But I wanted to point out that it doesn't matter that you have a sweet tooth, in order to lose weight it's just about your total calories. Seriously, I did Jenny Craig and lost about 25 lbs (I am only 5'1", so it was a LOT on me!) and even in the JC program you are constantly eating sweets. Just less total calories, more veggies, more water and more excersize. I lost the rest of the weight on my own after I stopped the program, I had started to date FI so it was way to hard to eat different meals than him all the time.

So keep up hope, keep trying and don't worry about what everyone else is doing!

Two of my BM are hiring trainers for the wedding, but I don't think its soley because of my wedding! I would just take it as flattery that they want to be at their best for your wedding. And ya it is annoying when a size 4 person tells you how they need to loose the chub! I'm a size 7/8 and carry all my weight in my tum tum so I can show them what real tub is!

I totally feel you here!  I have 4 bridesmaids, who are sizes 4/6, 6, 8, and 10; I wear roughly a size 20.  Everyone is working out and dieting to get ready for the wedding (including me!) but it can be really hard to hear about their weight loss woes when you could fit roughly 2 of them in my dress.  o_O  Hang in there!  No amount of weightloss will outshine a happy bridal glow.  ;)

Everyone in my world is doing the same.  I really don't worry about it because I use it to motivate me.  I can't blame anyone for wanting to look their best for an event.  And I'm happy its special to them too.

a lot of my BMs did the same, but it didnt bother me.  They want to look their best for your day as well.  I didnt do ANYTHING extra to prepare for my wedding, evenwith everyone around me preparing it.  I kept to my normal schedule.  I seriously doubt they are doing this to upstage you, like someone said.  You got a lot of good advice, but if you NEED something sweet, eat a slice of pineapple or fruit - but moderation is deinitely key.  Use this as motivation, work out with your girls.

yeah...that's annoying.  I've gained 10 lbs during this past winter and it's frustrating me to no end.  I always wanted to be my 'best' weight for my wedding.  Ignore everyone else.  No one is going to be looking at them anyways.  You're the bride!

No matter what size someone is, most feel that they should be in better shape. I'm 5"3, 110lbs & I don't think I'm fat but I do think I'm out of shape.

Maybe your wedding was motivation for them? They're not trying to steal the spotlight or look better than you. They'll also have a ton of photos taken of them as well plus be in front of everyone. I don't think they're trying to make you feel bad or outshine you. They won't even come close to doing so! You'll be the center of attention & everyone will be talking about you & see your joy. I've never heard of a wedding where people talk about the bridesmaids or focus on them more than the bride.

Can you talk with them? Can you become workout buddies? That would help you & them too:)

I cut down on eating out (like fast food and stuff) at work and started bringing my lunch from home (usually sanwiches or salads or frozen stuff).  Somebody made a comment that I must be watching my weight for the wedding!!!  The nerve of some people!  Honestly?  I realized that I couldn't afford to eat out everyday and it's way cheaper to bring lunch from home.
