So I have to share this somewhere, and my blog, my facebook and my twitter are all followed by my Fiance so this is the only place.
He’s from California, we live in North Dakota. He hasn’t been home to California since 2010 due to money and his work- he hasn’t been at a place that he could take enough time off that it would make sense for him to go home. Even at the holidays time, he only gets the 25th off which is the saddest thing ever, but I digress. We’re broke college kids, and at $600 a plane ticket, we can’t afford to fly back and forth that often. He’s finally been promoted and gotten high enough that he can take a week off, and I’m abusing that privledge without his knowledge!
Last week, I emailed his mom and asked her if she would consider helping to pay for us to come down there for a week. I’m still working out the fine details, but it’s looking like this is gonna be my Christmas git to him this year, where for the first week in January he takes it off work, and we head down there to visit for the week. She jumped at the chance, and is now helping me plan (and pay for, bless her soul!)a week long vacation, that includes a wekend trip to Disney, and a stay in a Disney Land hotel, a family BBQ with all his family he hasn’t seen in two years.
He has no idea I’m planning this trip behind his back, and I can’t wait to give it to him! I’m also contacting his boss (who i’ve known for years!) who’s going to make sure he can get the time off. It’s ust so exciting for me, and I had to share with someone!
Anyone ever planned a trip behind their SO’s back? It’s surprisingly fun!

You naughty girl!
Lol, no seriously that is really awesome! I’m planning a few wedding things behind SO’s back that I KNOW he will love. Like a damascus dagger to match his wedding band. And a retarded amount of other things. He has this thing with spoiling me for doing the most mundane things.
Like the fancy dancy coffee drinks I like, and he’ll buy one because I took the trash out a week ago or something. I think its just his excuse to buy me fun/pretty things.

how exciting. I don’t know how you will be able to keep it a secret for that long.. I would never last. 🙂 I’m the type of person who needs to shop for xmas gifts on xmas eve because otherwise I would try to give it to them as soon as I buy them.

@HelleCat: that’s so cute though!
@jenangeles: Oh it’s gonna kill me that’s for sure haha. I already almost let it slip once, and he saw my email that I stupidly titled with his name. He saw his name while glancing at my computer (thankfully he didn’t see his mom’s name as the sender lol!), and tried to get it out of me what I was doing! I’ll probably end up giving it to him early anyways!

Hopefully he isnt planning some super special trip for you at the same time! lol
Have you asked him what his plans are for that week? Of course that might kind of give it away. But I’d be so nervous that he would be looking into activities and maybe buying tickets to other things during that week, since he knows he has it off. Of course I’m sure he’ll forget about it once he discovers your plans, but hopefully he doesn’t buy anything too crazy in the mean time!!

I am a bit worried about him making plans that week, so I might actually tell him what we’re doing on our anniversary, which gives him just over a month to get things done on his side. We’ll see how it all pans out. This is why I started it now lol!
HOPEFULLY, It’s gonna be like a “here’s what’s happening next week, pack your bags” kind of thing, if I can pull it off. It’s his birthday week, and I know we’ll have some loose plans that week, but I’m sure he’ll be ok with changing them from a dinner in North Dakota to DisneyLand!
