Im getting legally married at sandos playacar in playa del carmen. This bit of my wedding is only for family and bridesmaids, and then the rest of the guests will come to the ‘main’ wedding – the catholic ceremony, and reception. I wanted both ceremonies on the same day (legal and religious seperate here in mexico) and i have to be legally married in mexico as i live here (but in a different city)
there are two options – beach or the gazebowhich is just to the side of the pool
thing is, at 2pm the sun will be very bright and ive heard it gets quite windy. so thats putting me off having it on the beach. The gazebo has more shade, and is slightly more private…as on the beach there will be sunbathers very close by
but now im wondering if it would be nicer on the beach…but then how would i see anything without squinting/sunglasses
im going back and forth. heeeeeelp

I’m doing gazebo overlooking the beach. I like the beach as a backdrop, but I’m against sand in my weave and other beach-related annoyances. This is especially true if you still have to look your best later in the day (i.e. at your religious ceremony).

@newname_99: I think a gazebo would be nice! The beach is still in the background. Like the previous poster said..the beach could have its annoyances and for me it was not wanting a man in a speedo watch me get married and end up in my wedding pics!! lol

@sweetchiquita12: thats the problem. i saw a wedding in the hotel next door, and i just hated the fact that there were sunburnt men with speedos and beer bellies on every side. also people videoing the wedding ceremony- why would you video the ceremony of a complete stranger?
@Overjoyed: yeah thats true. i dont want my hair to get blown about before the bride/groom photos and the religious ceremony
its just i see the facebook page on the website and it seems virtually nobody uses the gazebo. it makes me wonder why haha

@newname_99: LOL!! Exactly! I went this year to the resort we are getting married at and I couldnt help but watch the wedding on the beach (didnt videotape it though but did take a picture just so I could get an idea of the set up for my own wedding) I know that other people will always be around at the resort where ever you get married but I feel that on the beach people stare more and there are unsightly things at the beach that could end up in the pictures
