I’m a newBee. Ok I keep changing my mind about my engagement ring. I know for sure I want a simple solitaire but I can’t decide what shape stone?
History on rings I’ve had and why I don’t have them anymore just to give you an idea:
1.) 1/2ctw. 3 Stone Round Brilliant Ring with baguette accents- I chose it because it had some scroll work but eventually hated it because it was hard to tone down and had too much going on for everyday wear for me. It looked like this but with round stones
2.) 3/4 carat Heart shaped solitaire- My guy did not like it because of the pointy edge
3.) 3/4 ctw round 3 stone ring set in platinum with no side stones- decided I don’t like platinum because it loses it’s shape and I am very active and rough with my hands. Plus I prefer a solitaire these days.
4.) 3/4 round brilliant solitaire Ideal cut- gorgeous my guy likes it but I still urn for something a bit out of the ordinary
So the fact of the matter is I’ve gone into the jewelry store and tried on every single shape in every style and it’s come down between choosing between an oval or a round brilliant. I’ve realized that I want something classic and timeless. I like unique but sometimes being too unique does not work out for me. My guy likes both so it’s really up to me. Should I go with round because it sparkles the most even though almost everyone will have the same ring I do or should I go with oval because it is classic but still unique? I’m afraid I’ll get bored of it and regret not going with a round. Then again I always thought they were boring and now I think they are beautiful. Uhhhhh!!
Any suggestions? I know it’s supposed to be about being married to the person you love but at the same time this is money we’re spending so I would like to finally be happy with my choice. FYI the 2 diamonds I am considering cost the same so it’s not about price.
I know some people can say I’m missing the point but I promise I only have problems comitting to a ring style because I love jewelry and my mood changes everyday on what I want to wear.
