I know the feeling! I fell asleep in the tub this morning. Thank God the dog started barking before the water over flowed. If I can just make it until next Monday I can get some much needed rest.
I am the same way in winter...barely making it. Tired and sluggish ALL the time. Strange sleep patterns...it's horrible. My Dr. thinks I may have a mild case of Winter Depression. He suggested some type of special lamp they make for people who suffer with the condition. It's no fun hibernating like a bear in the winter.

Yeah, I've heard about those lamps! I find that I feel alot better when I go outside for a little bit, so I probably need to invest in one of those. But ugh, money is stupid around Christmas. SO many presents to buy! Can't bother to buy one for myself, lol.
I'm so glad that I'm not the only one. I hate winter. I get the winter blues. I always feel so blah from mid-Dec til Marchish. Its always grey and gross here.
I know that I should work out bc it boost endorphins, but still, it just seems like a daunting task. I seriously need to move away from the winter. And head to a warmer, sunnier climate.
Also, I read somewhere that the weather and sunlight change this time of year makes your body crave different foods. People are built to want more starches and carbs during the lean months of winter. It's part of why people want to load up with "comfort foods" like mashed potatoes when it's cold and dreary outside. Delicious, but no good for your energy level!
KMSull- When you are stressed, your body burns minerals and B vitamins. Taking a supplement could boost your energy level. Hope you get back to normal soon!
It doesnt help that its dark out before I even get home! Just makes me want to slip in bed pretty much everyday when I get back from work. I think that if you try to get back into a routine of going to the gym then maybe that will boost your energy levels?
I hope you start feeling better soon! I think that if you can get yourself to go to the gym, you will probably feel better because of all the endorphins. BTW, like the new picture! Still having to get used to it though!
Thanks girls! I know I need to start taking better care of myself, but that requires energy. Which is ironic because I have none. Ha!
AB- thanks! It threw RB off too! I actually like it better when its bigger, it shrunk down weird! But it's a good picture from a happy day! I took it in the wine cellar where my friend got married last week.
I hate that feeling too. I'm a big SAD person. I'd die living somewhere where it ends up being dark for half of the year. :(
That plus finals making me sick is a really sucky combo. :p
50, I like to pretend I don't have SAD, but it's really, really bad this year! Making me absolutely insane and it doesn't help that the daylight we HAVE been having recently is all gloomy and overcast!
Oh gosh -- I'm so glad there are others. It's dark when I leave for work and dark when I get home. Plus it's cold (it's been MISERABLE in Dallas these past two weeks) which makes me all the more grumpy. The boy asked my why I haven't been to the gym much and I told him that winter makes me want to come home, put on jammies and eat mac and cheese under the blanket -- i.e. hibernate. He looked at me like I was a looney. *sigh*
Aw, KM, I can relate. Maybe you can put the sun lamp on a wishlist for the holidays?
I've been the same way about the gym. I hate going to the gym when it's cold out, but I think if I can get myself there for a week, I'll get into the swing of it again. Right now, I'm trying to write a 7-9 page paper that's due tomorrow, but I'm in bed... so too comfy to really focus. I'm horrible!
Anyway... I hope you get some more rest and feel better soon!!
Go to the tanning beds, but just the lowest one possible (!) just for the light and warmth. it seems to help me! :)
i must be used to this ...i live in New england , where its cold and miserable about 8 out 12 months a yr..espec this yr , where we got kinda screwed out of a summer..So i am just at the point , where its just another miserable day..The only thing thats getting me in the happy mood is that its XMAS and I love this holiday , always have , and since my honey proposed last xmas eve , its become a more special time of yr for me... ..I think its all in the way u see things..In my cubicle at work ..i have pics of tropic islands all around me ..( its my dream to 1 day own an island ..lol ) ..anyways it keeps me happy and when i get grumpy i see kids all around me so happy that xmas is here..and every yr i watch xmas movies and classics ..it gets u in the spirit.. May everyone have a happy holiday ( no matter what u celebrate)
@KM- I know, it sucks. And it also seems like there's really nothing you can do about it. I know there are those lamp-guys, but c'mon, I honestly don't think that would help me. Perhaps I'm wrong.
Iowa is not any better! We just had our first snow storm this week and it will only get worse until March! I go home in the dark, change into sweats, eat dinner, then get on the laptop looking at wedding blogs! My wedding is not for another 11 months so I am taking the planning slow but finding a lot of great ideas! Thanks Ladies!!!! This routine I have fell into doesn't help my mood or my energy level!
I went to the gym yesterday for the first time in a long time. I could tell I was way out of shape! I need to get into a routine and stick to it for the next year, so I am fit to be a bikini the week of my wedding (in Cozumel Mexico) in front of most our friends and family!
BTW, @MstoMrs we have the same wedding date! How is your planning coming along?
I'm going TRY to get up earlier than 11 AM to see if that helps... hopefully it won't be rainy and yucky out! If it's not, I might try to walk somewhere...or bake cookies!
I am exhausted too, but I think I am becoming an insomniac. Needed something to do, so I joined the Weddingbee Boards. This is an amazing place to bee! hahaha
I hate winter also and I get the winter blahs and combine that with having Hypothyroidism equals major yuck.

Ugh. Winter does NOT make me happy. I'm tired ALL the time, and I can't seem to make myself go to the gym (I haven't been in 4 months). Add that to the fact that I've had to be at work at 7 AM the last two days even though I haven't been going to bed til 2-3 AM. So, so exhausted...
