Maybe since you have an idea of exactly what you want, you could look online and find specific dresses by specific designers that you want to try on.  Then call up boutiques that carry those designers and see if they have those styles?

@TrousseauHorse:

As a girl that loves blinged out tulle ballgowns… have you seen the Lazaro LZ3319?  Beautiful.  I hear you though about not everyone carrying certain styles..  I had to wait until a sample sale to try on mine.

You’re right what you are looking for is hard to find. This was the closest I could find.

Maybe you need to find a customer wedding dress designer? If you have a budget up to 5000, they can probably make what you are looking for.

I don’t know if you’ve looked at them yet, but try Demetrios (). He loves his bling and ball gowns (even the A-lines are pretty full) and quite a few have straps or I could see a bunch wasily adding simple straps.

The picture below is one (Illissa 545)

@TrousseauHorse:  Have you thought about working with a tailor or a company like Jasmine’s to make a custom dress? If I were you I’d look around for a ballgown that has what you want, but isn’t tulle and talk to someone about making it in tulle instead of the original fabric. I think there are a lot more blingy satin ballgowns out there than tulle ones. A custom dress could also piece together different aspects of several dresses to make your perfect dress.

If there’s an Allure store in your area, check out this dress. When you said “blinged out tulle ballgown with straps” it immediately popped into my head. http://allurebridals.com/products/9061
