WOW. You definitely made the right choice. That dress is to DIE for!!! I'm in love too !
I'm drooling for all your dresses. I love lace. I said I wasn't going to buy lace because I wanted something more modern but when we started planning a rustic/vintage wedding I couldn't stay away from lace. My dress was out of my price range too.
That said I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE Agusta Jones Belle. I'm in love with layered lace but sadly my dress doesn't have any. So I live vicariously through other brides.
The more expensive one is equally as gorgeous though. Tough choice glad its you and not me lol.
@NurseMandie: I went back and forth between lace. When I got engaged I was thinking lace because it was classy but then I immediately switched to ruffles when I started doing dress research. But we are also doing a rustic outdoor wedding and I thought what better look than lace!
@texasrandi: I had already bought a dress previous. I thought I wanted simple with just a little bit of bling and that's what I got. I figured simple goes with any kind of wedding. Then we started planning rustic/vintage and I kept dreaming of me wearing a beautiful lace dress in our outdoors ceremony and I decided I should look at a few. Of course I found one I fell in love with so now I'm selling my first to pay for my second dress. Which my 2nd dress put me over budget but I'm slowly getting over that. It does help to sell the first and use that money to pay for the 2nd so I'm not so far over my budget anymore.
There is something about lace dresses that I just go "Ohhh" over. Very classy and timeless.
@NurseMandie: I am such a bulimic shopper (I buy things, then regret it, and return it), so I was so worried about having dress regret by going with a simple lace gown, but I love that this one is simple and has that gorgeous detail to it at the same time.
Thank you everyone for drooling over my dress with me! I wanted my dress to be a surprise to everyone at the wedding so I haven't been able to show anyone except two FILs that accompanied me to my appointment.
I think you definitely made the right choice. The rest of the dresses are nice, but that one is stunning.
Wow. If it weren't for your pictures I would have been positive my BFF had joined the Bee and not told me. Her story is exactly like yours. Everything from liking other lace dresses, not liking that non-lace lace, and especially because she walked in the shop and saw THEE dress (but on another girl!) and said I need that. That's it. It's the one. Her dress looks SO similar to yours I had to pull up pictures to compare!
You definitely made the right choice. It's gorgeous. The lace looks sooo beautiful.
I said that exact same thing to myself when I thought I wanted my dress to have ruffles!
@texasrandi: Really enjoyed this post, your dress looks amazing on you
@texasrandi: wow beautiful on you ; ) you choose good girl

k, so. I swore I would not brag about my chosen dress, but I just can't hold in the excitement anymore!!!
I first thought I was in love with this ruffly number by Badgley Mischka (Castellano).
And then I decided lace was my one true love because it would be a timeless design and an everlasting love that I wouldn't look back and say, why in the world did I choose ruffles?!? So for a short while I loved this lacey Robert Bullock (Firra) gown.
And then there were a few other lacey flings in between until I tried this one from Augusta Jones (Belle) and thought I was in love again, but I was wrong.
Then I tried on this lacey one that I had my eye on from across the room the very moment I walked in the shop. I mean, seriously, our eyes locked and once we met, there was no keeping us apart. I was soooo in love, despite her $3800 price tag which was waaaaay out of my 2k budget. I mean, I tried to stay away. I knew she would be trouble. "Just try her out and maybe you will actually hate her," I said to myself. HA!
I wanted to choose the Augusta Jones Belle because she was a bit cheaper (although still out of my budget), but ultimately, I just could not resist the to-die-for French chantilly lace on this Modern Trousseau Kendra. It was soooooo extraordinary!
I wanted a classic/vintage lace gown (not the shiny beaded princessy gowns that pretend to be lace), but I also didn't like how the classic lace gowns don't "pop" in pictures. But the Kendra one was just too good to be true and does "pop" in photos. Here is a close up of her gorgeous texture.
So did I choose the right gown, or what? :)
