OMG I am sooo not going to lie... My dad's college roomate who is a wonderful person (and Cardiologists) had a wedding a year ago where this should have been the invite... The wedding was so nice but everyone there was miserable. My dad felt awful for him. Getting married to the "Cheap Two-Bit Tramp" So this made me laugh!!!
OMG thank you so much I am having such a bad wedding planning day that I was totally ticked off before I read that, now my mood has been lifted and I am ready to tackle the impossilbe search for BM dresses.
Hee hee...
I once went to a wedding where the groom's family had the most awful unhappy serious faces during the ceremony. It was really weird, esp given that I was there as a guest and still don't know the situation.
I'm thankful all the time for my FILs! (though the idea of listening to my FMIL's grating laugh the rest of my life is a little overwhelming...)
@Christine_M Im so glad it put a smile on your face we all go through the wedding stress but its nice when someone or something can help you through it : ). P.S you go girl I havent even picked my BM dresses haha
@hopewell Oh my goodness that would be the worst!
HAHA omg sooo funny! It makes me thankful my FMIL is so great! She tells me all the time how she is so excited I am going to be the daughter she never had:) She even started saving in a piggy bank for my dress! Awh so sweet!
This reminds me of the movie Monster In Law!! Love it!
@clarebee omg I love that movie! im sure that would have been the invitation huh? Lol
Truly hilarious - this makes me feel so lucky to get on brilliantly with my FMIL!
It's from the Miss Manners perfect wedding book. The whole book is great.
Love that invite.
And I've been to a wedding where the groom's family was NOT happy. Very weird experience. I was on the groom's side (cousin) but was never super close. Then everything they feared actually happened, my cousin accussed his parents of abuse and all sorts of aweful things, him and his (now ex) wife cut off all contact for about a year and a half, then he came crawling back home.
Strangest thing about the whole situation was that he was studying to be a minister while they were married and being so deeply aweful.
Haha! I remember reading that invitation before and thinking how sorry I felt for the daughter-in-law to be. Then I saw the picture that was also attached...

That picture is great! It will definitely keep me laughing for the day.
I know there have been a few disagreements with me and the FILs (they were against my career change bc they felt it was not in the best interest of their son or future grandkids even though we werent even engaged yet and oh, I am becoming a nurse practitioner!) but I know they could never call me a 2 bit whatsherface.
