Have you had a look at your To Do list and tried to see if there are any jobs you can ask your FI to take over for you to ease the burden?

I haven’t had any help either, but my family and MOH live on the other side of the country. Every time I start to freak out I just re-assess how much actually needs to be done and how much I’m doing just to suit myself. It always helps to put things into perspective.

@iMechie:   We have invited around 100 guests. We’re having an outdoor ceremony at a local park and then having an indoor reception. I’m DIYing everything from the bouttonierres to the chair covers so I definitely know how it feels to take so much on board! My FI is handling the music portion for me which was a big help, and he has promised to learn how to set up the ceremony decor for me.

It did really bother me at first that I was having to do so much on my own, but I keep reminding myself that I am doing all of these projects and meeting these vendors so that I can put together the wedding that I have dreamt up in my head. I think everyone else will enjoy the wedding no matter what, and FI just wants me to be happy, so all of the details that I’m stressing out over are only details that I will really care about on the day. Thinking about it that way definitely helps me 🙂

Are you feeling overwhelmed with the size of your wedding? I wouldn’t worry too much about the last minute invites. I would just call or visit anybody close by that you wanted to invite and explain to them that you were really sad that you didn’t have enough room at your venue to invite them, but you’ve got some free spaces now and if they would like to come then you’d love to have them there.

I can’t imagine how painful it must be to feel like your family aren’t very interested in your wedding. My advice would be to try and focus on why the day is special for you and your FI, and bear in mind that every single guest who attends your wedding is there to show you their love and support, even if you don’t feel very supported in the lead up to the day.
