@couawilou: Woohoo!!! That is so exciting!
I remember when I got my braces off after 5 years. It was just awesome.
I couldn't stop running my tongue over my smooth teeth for a few days.
Such a wonderful feeling.
@KatNYC2011: Thank you! I think the first thing I'm going to do tonight is eat an Apple! Haha
@couawilou: And popcorn!!
YAY!! That's great!
@BayStateBride: Oh yes Popcorn the caramel one Yummy!!!! I think I'm going to gain 10 lbs just tonight by eating all the foods I haven't been able to lol
@couawilou: Oooo... corn on the cob too!
That was one of the first things I ate after getting my braces off.
KRAFT CARAMELS!
I remember when mine came off they felt so smooth and BIG! lol. Weirdest feeling ever. You'll have to post a pic with a big smile for us!
@KatNYC2011: I told my FI this morning that he has to go get me some lol.
@MissNoodles: I will for sure. FI took a picture of me this morning for the before picture and then tonight I'll take some for the after, I can't wait.
@couawilou: GO GIRL!!! Definitely post that before and after pic!! Yay I'm so excited for you!
Yaaaaaaaaaaay! I loved that feeling. I got them off on my 13th birthday. It was pure concidence of when they scheduled that.
@MissPumpkinPie: Oh wow, that's a nice birthday present. I wish I had mine when I was WAY younger but at least I won't have them for the wedding and THAT"S what counts :-)
Yahoo!! Congratulations, it'll feel awesome (and slightly weird). You'll find yourself licking your teeth all the darn time! LOL. Enjoy all the foods you have had to hold off on for 5 yrs :-) I got mine off right before prom and I was smiling like the Cheshire Cat!
*And, at the risk of sounding like a nagging mother, wear your retainer!!* I did for a while, but after stopping after a year or two, they've shifted slightly. Actually, see if they can put in a permanent retainer. I was sooooo mad that I was never offered the option, it's so convenient!
So excited for you!!! 5 years?!! Holy crap! I got mine off on Wednesday, but they were only on for 3 months to fix an Invisalign issue. I thought about you when I was getting them off and thinking you were getting it done shortly after me.
They were pure torture, so you deserve some sort of prize for putting that kind of time in. I can't even imagine. You should be having a party for that accomplishment! Can you tell I really really really despised braces?
@NDBee: That's what I want, the permanent one and I have mentioned to the ortho. I am going to wear that thing (if I don't have the permanent one), there's no way I'm going to let 5 years go down the drain. "I got mine off right before prom and I was smiling like the Cheshire Cat!" HAhaha, I can so picture you!
@couawilou: Absolutely! =) I'm sure they look great! I had a retainer cemented in on my front bottom teeth to prevent them from turning and crowding again. The top retainer sucked balls all together, but at least you can take it out. Haha.
Ah nice! I remember when I got mine taken off about 2 years ago, it was the best feeling ever!!!
@bree72: After 5 years I despise them too now lol!
Thanks everyone! I'll post pics tonight!
Yaaay I'm so excited for you! 5 years is a long time, wow. Can't wait to see the after pictures!

OMG I'm so excited! In about 6 hours I will no longer have braces whaahooo!!!! Sorry if I sound very excited... but I have had these suckers on for the past 5 years and I am dying to take them off so I can finally smile without being self conscious! I know this post had nothing to do with the Bee but I'm so excited and it's Friday and just wanted to share my joy with everyone else out there :-)
