So I loved my solitaire asscher, but I couldn’t help but wish for a little more finger coverage. After perusing a bit trying to figure out a suitable option without breaking the bank, fate stepped in and made my world infinitely brighter! I found the PERFECT semi mount and got it at a discount for only $875. When they remounted my ring, they gave back my scott kay solitaire semi mount in pristine condition. I am selling it on ebay now for hopefully 500-600 (less than half the price I paid when I got it less than a year ago) So after everything is siad and done, it looks like I will have spent only 200-300 out of pocket to make my ring exactly the way I’ve always wanted it. The halo is just around the center stone, and the shank is plain solid white gold, so I view it as the best of both worlds. Anyway, after this little novel I wrote for you haha, here are the before and after pics!!
PLEASE POST YOUR PICS/STORIES OF YOUR RING MAKE-OVERS!!

@blondemotives: Honeslty, I really liked it as a solitaire (but I am biased–that’s what I have). Your halo looks nice too though. 🙂
ETA: Sorry, no ring makeover here. I kept mine just the way I got it from my FI.

I really like how it was before… beautiful.

Like the prior posters, I must admit that I personally love your ring as a solitaire, but I’m happy for you that you made a change that YOU love!

I agree…I do like the new setting but really loved the old one.
I did a makeover recently to get more width to my ring (originally a Tiffany style). I know most people wouldn’t like my cathedral style but I do.

i really liked it as a solitaire but also like the halo.
i’m glad that you are so happy with the change.

I just realized that you have a different wedding band, too. The first one is channel set round diamonds; the new one appears to be bezel set, in different shapes, with milgrain edging?

Girl I am so glad u made UR ring the perfect ring for u! I also noticed the diff wedding band lol tried to trick us did ya lol

Yes, it is a different band. I actually got that one on ebay for $159!! crazy. It’s diamonds and 14k gold. I was a bit skeptical but the seller had great reviews and unbeatable prices, so I thought I’d give it a shot. It was an eternity band too, I am definitely not disappointed. here is the link to the seller if anyone is interested:
And yes, I know everyone really liked it as a solitaire, and I did too, honestly. But it just really wasn’t my style. Solitaires are totally gorgeous, but the longer I wore it, the more I realized it didn’t suit my personality. Perhaps I should post a few more pics of the new setting so you guys can really get a feel for it. The first ones aren’t the best.

Oh, love the reset. Bling bling! It looks great with the wedding band, as well.

Wow, what a beauty, gorgeous!!!!

Thank you guys!! I forgot about it when I woke up this morning, then saw it when I went into the bathroom and was excited all over again hahaha.

I preferred it as a solitaire, but that is just because solitaires and clean/classic looks are more my style (and your asscher looked gorgeous!) – I am not so much into halos. But what is important here is that YOU are happier with it (since I am not wearing it!) and it sounds like you are AND managed to switch it up for a great net cost to you, too!
