Your ring is gorgeous! It would drive me insane knowing it was in the house. Hope you don’t have to wait much longer!

So beautiful!!  I love old cuts!!

And yes, it can alter the shape, making it less round, it can thin the shank, and in some cases cause stone loss if not sized well.  You should also not size more than 2 sizes, for 8-5 would not work well in many cases.  But if you got it from a reputable jeweler, and they did not size around any pave, I would not worry about going down to a 5.

That is a gorgeous ring. I’m ina similar boat as you except with the wedding band. We have it,and I want to wear it but can’t for another almost 2 months! I sneak pictures of it once in a while though hehe

@happyxmichelle:  Lol!!! I went nuts just knowing my SO has it at his work, in OUR town!! He *knows* not to bring that thing in this house, lol. Actually he thinks I don’t know about it at all, silly boy. Congrats! It’s absolutely gorgeous!

@happyxmichelle:  It is likely cast in 6.5 as  that can be sized to all of the most common sizes, regardless of size, I think this ring would be the same for everyone. Since you sized it smaller, the side stones will cover more on the sides of your finger.  Had you need to go the other way, up to an 8, the details would cover less of your finger, if that makes sense.  If you were an “odd” size like a 2 or a 10, my guess is that they would special order it for an additional fee.

But yes, for sizing, they cut the shank at the bottom and take out some metal, then solder and repolish.  That is why when things are sized they can be thinner, at the bottom, or why the shape can change a little.

@happyxmichelle:  Holy shit. I love it. I love the knife edge; I love the knife edge band. Where did you get this ring? I am having my rings custom made and I am thinking of modifying the set you have. I friggin love it!

ETA Ah, Simon G. I only just made out what it says on the band.

SO pretty! and unique! 🙂

Also, don’t even worry about your fingers. I have a few crooked fingers too, Jamming them in sports too many times means they do not go back to straight apparently. haha

@happyxmichelle:  I scoured the site, found the set, and it has already been discontinued! FML lol. I will definitely flood this site with pics when my ring is done. Trust me. I may get banned for being obnoxious lol.
