BEES! I CAN’T CONTAIN MYSELF. It’s in the house, but I’m not allowed to look at it. However, since I WAS the one that picked it up from the store, I did sneak a peek and snap a few (crappy cell phone) photos of it.
I wanted to show you all how it turned out! It has my grandmother’s .96 carat (which apparently is in the range of calling it a “carat”) old european cut diamond as the center stone. It’s so beautiful.
I had a thread which i closed a little while ago about whether or not I should get the matching band. I decided that I do want the matching band because it will draw more attention to the knife-edge detail of the ring, which is one of my favorite parts of it! But I might want to get a milgrained bezel-set eternity band to stack after a few years or so. (I can’t stop planning and I’m not even officially engaged yet!)
Now I have kind-of a stupid question. They ordered me a 6.5 and sized it down to a 5.5. Does the size of the ring alter the final product? Like, would a size 8 ring sized down to a 5 look significantly different than a ring ordered at a 5? Does that make sense?
Anyways, here is the picture of the ring from the website, which includes the matching band:
AND HERE IT IS ON MY FINGERRRRRR! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
^^Oh nuts! That is the biggest photo I have ever seen! I hope these automatically resize…hahaha.
^^You can see the knife edge at this angle! LOVES!
^^More knife-edge goodness! And crooked fingers. One thing I’m super self-conscious about, haha.
My favorite part about the whole ring buying process is how proud of himself my SO is. He’s constantly like, “I can’t believe how beautiful your ring is.” And then he goes “BAAAAAALLIN!'” And pretends to shoot a basket. Yes, he still makes references to that song. Such a dork. But I love him!
Please show me your rings, ladies! I love me some ring pornzzzzzzzz.
