(Closed) I’m worried my face is too fat for short hair.

I have a round face (my dad used to call me chipmunk cheeks when I was a kid), and I found that my face actually looked thinner with a short cut.  My hair is naturally curly, so when I wear it long, I look like I have a giant head because I have so much hair, and it’s really full.

I had a pixie cut when I first met my FI that I loved, but he saw a picture of me from high school when I had hair down to my butt, and he asked me to grow it out.  So I did…and I hated it.  I wear my hair in a chin length cut these days, and I think my face looks considerably thinner with my hair this length.

I was trying to find some old pictures to show you the difference, but apparently, I have no pictures with my hair down when it was long.

I’m going to grow it out a bit for the wedding, but I’m not going to start until the wedding is about a year out.

I think you would totally rock the short hair. AND I say go for it. I’ve had pixie cuts to hair down to my butt, and I am glad I’ve tried them both

Actually, I think you would look sooo cute with short hair!! Not sure how short you really want to go, but I think it would be fun to do a short bob a-line cut on you. My friend is a hair stylist and has a similar face shape. She wears her hair like that because the a-line cut actually makes her face look thinner because of the angle. Sometimes long hair can actually make a person look heavier, but I think it all depends on the hair. I say, do what you want! Try it out! And post a pic when/if you do 🙂 Bet it would look so cute!!

I think you should do it.  And I think it would flatter you!  If you don’t like it…at least it will always grow back, right?

I really think it would look great. My advice would be to make sure that your longest layer is no shorter than mouth/chin length. That would be the most slimming look. 🙂

I’ve known lots of ladies with similar face shape to yours who looked absolutely beautiful with shorter hair.

I think Masala gives good advice on length, that way it won’t seem to take as long for it to seem like it’s growing out if you end up not liking it a whole lot.

I think short hair would be super cute on you! I may be biased though, as I have EXTREMELY short hair. It is easy to style and I can still do tons of different things with it.
