- Wedding: May 2014
Planning our wedding, we didn’t give a whole lot of thought to the music selection. We figured we’d give the DJ some suggestions and let him go from there.
We knew what I was walking to (VSQ version of our song), we knew our first dance. The rest we didn’t really care about. The DJ manager pushed us to pick specific songs for our resgisty signing, recessional, and entrance to the reception. I’m really glad he did.
The song that was playing during the registry signing (John Legend, All of me – aka the wedding song of 2014) has turned out to be one of the most meaningful to DH and I. We both get a little teary when we hear it now. (We also used Beautiful Day by U2 for our recessional, and Make my Dreams by Hall and Oates for our entrance)
I guess the point of my post – the music matters, it seems like a small annoying detail in a giant list of details, but take the time to pick these songs. They really will matter 🙂
Were you surprised at how much the music meant to you – or how hard it was to choose?
