In laws paying for alcohol- how to word?

There is no need to mention who is paying for what.

If it were me, I would say ” give Bob a hi five because he just bought you guys a round of drinks”

I don’t think the guests need to know who paid for what, leave the drink tickets as they are.

You definitely don’t need to announce who is paying for anything. 

Did you consider doing a consumption bar up to the point your in-laws are willing to pay, then converting to a cash bar?  I think drink tickets are a little cheesy and remind me of crappy events in college where we were bribed to attend with drink tickets.
