I attended a wedding yesterday and saw something really beautiful and wanted to share in case your grooms have a similar situation. The groom’s mother passed away when he was a kid and instead of substituting someone else to dance with him during the mother / son dance he took that time to openly discuss how hard it was not having a mother for all of the milestones in his life and how grateful he is to have the other important people in his life today. It was a tough situation because I dont think he had any memorable stories about his mom since he was so young when she died and he handled it in a very honest, respectful and beautiful way. He asked for a moment of silence to remember his mom, gave everybody a few moments to wipe their tears and then said let’s party. Awesome.
