Yay! Welcome to the TTC board! May your stay be short and sweet ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m assuming you’re off BCP. Get on a prenatal and start BD! You can look into OPKs, charting,  and other methods (such as the sperm meets egg plan) if you want to really hit the ground running… otherwise, just have fun with it!

Good luck!!

I am pregnant now –

We didn’t do anything particularly special –

We didn’t work out when I was meant to ovulate –

We didn’t have sex three times a day – I just stopped taking the pill.

My husband thought we would need to have sex much more often than we did (maybe three times a week) but we were still busy and the idea of forcing it just didn’t seem right to me.

There is research that says if a man is having sex with a particular woman less often he will ejaculate more sperm with her than normal – I guess he will ejaculate sperm every time – so how often might not be so important.

As to when – well my cycle except for when regulated by the pill has never been clockwork so if I had tried to predict when I would get pregnant based on normal ovulation predictions I wouldn’t have succeeded. That may or may not be the case for you personally.

I don’t know what effect stress has on fertility but I suspect it’s not really good so I say just enjoy it! Don’t put too much pressure on yourself.

One more titbit – apparently men who ahh – clean the pipes – with a bit of masturbation regularly get rid of any weak or underperforming sperm and are free to donate their energetic little wrigglers so I wouldn’t discourage him from self gratification especially if you are not really in the mood. ๐Ÿ™‚

@jennifer89:  Welcome and hopefully your stay on this board is short ๐Ÿ™‚

This is my 6th cycle TTC.

Take prenatals, start taking your temp every morning before you get off bed, keep track of your period and buy OPK to start tracking your O time, but if you really just want to see what happens without all this work, then just have BD’ing ๐Ÿ™‚ also one last tip, try to BD EOD for 2 weeks from the time your period is over.

GL ! xoxo

There’s a great thread in green at the top of the TTC boards called What to expect – TTC. Check it out!
