btw...the colors in the bm dress are a lot different, mostly teal and navy blue
I'm not crazy about shorts, do you have any pictures of your inspiration? What about khakis or maybe even linen pants? they will have a relaxed feeling but definitely not too informal.
i LOVE those dresses!
while it's not my wedding, and it's totally up to you... i think you should stick with pants for the guys. even though your dress is knee-length, it's still very bridal (and adorable!), so i think the guys should look a little more formal than shorts. perhaps a grey lightweight pant, maybe linen? then they can wear short sleeve navy shirts. i think putting the groom in a white (or whatever color your dress is) shirt to match you would look awesome. i love, love the color pallate in the bm dress--its going to be beautiful.
yeah i am still thinking maybe pants, but its going to be 80-90 degrees in the backyard...im not worried about it not being formal, we are pretty much just having a backyard party...bonfire and karaoke included!!
i think a backyard party sounds awesome! that's exactly what i wanted. we're having an actual reception and all, but we're have bbq and everything. it's as close to a backyard party i could convince my fiance to have!
even though it's not terribly formal, i think that if you decide to do pants you'll be glad you did. it'll look more pulled together in photos and everything. linen pants are amazing. they're breathable and comfortable, and i definitely don't think anyone would complain about being too hot in them. at the end of the day, though, it's completely up to you. you have to do what will make you happy on that day, and evoke happy memories when you look back on that day!
I agree with linen pants. Shorts would look weird, imo.
For flowers, maybe summer wildflowers? Daisies, daffodils, foxglove, black-eyed susans, etc.

here are my dress and my BM dresses...our wedding is very informal and i am trying to decide on the grooms and GM clothes (thinking shorts with collared shirts), FG dress, and flower colors. I want to stick with more blue colors then anything since my wedding is outside in august. My mother, and BM are all busy with work and school, so i can never get their opinions and i am very co-dependent, i can never make a decision on my own!!
Would it look ok for GM to wear navy shirts and groom to wear lighter color (all with black or gray shorts), and FG to wear blue instead of white/ivory? and i am at a total loss for what flowers to use!!
