Hopefully they'll also be treating him for H. pylori (the causative bacteria) as well...
***not medical advice, only something to ask about****
I am so happy for you! Good luck with the treatment for the ulcer. I don't have any specific advice, but my dad had to do a drastic diet change last year for another condition, and what helped him the most was that my mom did it with him. So I think it's great that you'll be supporting him by changing your diet as well.
Glad to hear he is doing well! I love prilosec!!!
LOL @ MrsDG's disclaimer :)
Thanks!
@Mrs. DG: H. pylori was the 1st thing they tested for and of course he doesn't have it (that would be waaaaaay too easy to fix!). Thanks though!!
Yay I held my breath while I waited for your post to come up! I have no advice on this matter, but I am so happy for you.
Thank goodness! And think of all the wonderful healthy recipes you'll discover!
Oh my goodness I am so glad to hear this :) Good luck with the treatment!
YAY!!! It's cuz we were all praying for ya! ;)
So happy to hear - great news! Now you can really enjoy the holidays!
I'm so glad that he doesn't have cancer! It's probably good for you two to watch your diet anyway since diet is linked to a lot of negative health problems later in life.
Oh thank goodness! What a relief! I'm so happy that you can enjoy the holidays without that fear hanging over you guys.
Wishing him a speedy recovery!
Oh what a relief! I'm so happy for you. Enjoy the holidays :)
I am SO glad the news turned out not to be cancer! Hopefully your hubby gets well soon!
SO HAPPY FOR YOU! I was wondering about an update, so thrilled its not cancer...and think how much healthier you'll be!
I just breathed the biggest sigh of relief ever.
As for food- I found the best way to eat (especially when overcoming an illness or trying to prevent them) is as close to the source as possible. Someone once told me to only shop around the perimeter of the grocery store (which is usually where the fresh produce, meats, dairy, etc are) and stay away from the aisles which are full of preservatives and weird chemicals, and I like that idea:)

Hi ladies. Thank you again for all your love, support and good thoughts.
I am very happy to report that my husband does NOT have cancer. Yay!!!
He does, however have a very bad peptic ulcer (the worst the doc has ever seen- he'd said) and low blood sugar. So, with a drastic change in our (because I can't eat crappy food and not let him) diet, figuring out how to reduce his stress, and the help of Prylosec we'll hopefully get this under control.
If anyone has any suggestions for treatment, diet or anything else I'd love to hear it.
Again, thank you all so, so much.
