- Wedding: July 2013
TO the Bees in OC area:
(SORRY this has been reposted from the “venue” board, it should have been under “Reception”!)
I’m having a lot of difficulty trying to find a location for our wedding reception for our July 6 2013 (Sat) daytime wedding.
Here are the stats:
– Ceremony at San Juan Capistrano Mission Basilica, 10AM on Sat 7/6/13- 85 Guests- Brunch or Lunchtime reception- Budget $13000
**What I need help with** :
Does anyone know of a restaurant in OC that will accommodate 85, has 4 stars at least on yelp, and doesn’t look tacky/too ballroomy?
To give you an idea of what we are hoping for it to feel like… here are some other venues we looked at/really wanted:
(keywords: historic, rustic, natural, organic, cute…)
My Fiance and I originally really really wanted an outdoors, woodsy rustic reception, but those are really hard to find in Orange County. Parker Ranch in Trabuco Canyon no longer does weddings, (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Parker-Ranch/217442948275737 link to the place just in case you were wondering how it looks like/feels.)
Then we looked at (and came close to booking) Giracci Farms and Vineyards (http://www.giracci.com/) in Silverado; it is a beautiful outdoors location but it is a freaking buttload of money (starts at $5500 just for rental of space, only).
We decided that we needed to go RESTAURANT style to save money on venue rental and also to save on planning stress (which I’ve had a lot of and we’ve barely started!)
We found this ADORABLE little restaurant called The Ramos House Cafe (http://www.ramoshouse.com/). It would have been perfect as it’s in San Juan Capistrano and has just the right ambiance. (Here are some wedding photos to give you an idea of how it looks inside http://kayshaweiner.com/blog/2011/11/14/ashley-jim-the-ramos-house-wedding/)BUT!!! It only accommodates 55. ! 🙁
I’m starting to think that this ideal restaurant space we have in mind DOES NOT EXIST. >_< I am being WAY TOO PICKY, aren’t I 🙁
We’re also open to cheap rented spaces that aren’t too open-to-the-public that allow you to bring your own catering (but those are even HARDER to find i think)
Do you have any suggestions? I feel like I’ve scoured the internet a hundred times over for every single possibility, but maybe I haven’t.
(Sometimes wedding planning just makes me wanna lay down and die!)
THANK YOU SO MUCH BEES.
(Places I’ve already looked into: Cafe Mozart, Vintage Steakhouse, Orange County Mining Co, Villa del Sol, Tortilla Flats, Ole Hanson Beach Club, Historic Cottage, Newland Barn, Heritage Hill Historic Park, Huntington Beach Equestrian Center, Oak Canyon Nature Center, Santiago Oaks…)
