I got my dresses from Davids and they are in Plum. It is really too bad that they do not offer more options in Plum because it is such a beautiful color. We got the dresses in and they are beautiful!
Have you tried Alfred Angelo? Here is a link to some of the purple shades they have. You can single out the dresses by shades. Good luck!!
I also loved DB's plum, but since there aren't very many dresses in that color, I'm going to go with Lapis. I have 3 out of town bridesmaids, and it's just easier for everyone to be able to go into their local David's and pick out their dress. I didn't find another purple that I liked better, but I also didn't look very hard because I had my mind set that it's just easier to go with David's. Good luck!
I went through the same thing. Lapis is a little darker than what I had in mind, but the dress my girls wanted didn't come in plum. We decided to just go with the lapis.
thank you all, gonna check out alfred angelo, mori lee, bary jay and alexia. i'm fighting hard against the lapis, it just doesn't pop for me...but then david's easiest for scattered bridesmaids....*sigh* never thought i'd be stressing over a shade of purple.
My BM are wearing Bill Levkoff eggplant (each in a different style)...They are a bit pricey, but I'm ordering through www.netbride.com and they are about $110-$130 each.

I agree with Bridetobe101010- we are going with the Bill Levkoff " Euro Eggplant" color as well. Good luck!

anyone know of a designer (affordable) who has a fabulous, deep, dark purple? i was gonna go with davids but i'm not feeling the lapis, and they don't have enough choices in plum. tia!
