I have a memory foam mattress and I LOVE it. I’ve had it for almost 3 years and it’s held up great!

I have a 12 inch memory foam matress (no springs or pillow top) and I adore it. We’ve had it for about two years, and one long haul move where it was shoved up against everything, and it’s still really great. I like the squishy beds and SO likes a firm matress so it was a great combo. If I didn’t know when SO purchased it I would think it was brand new.

Whatever you do do NOT get a sleep number. I literally threw mine out a window when we moved.

Can.I.Be.Mrs.C.:  ditto. We returned our sleep number under the trial period, what a pain. Horrible bed, f’d my back up so bad I was at the chiropractor every week until I got rid of it.

bunniejanie:  Every woman I know that has one hates it. My BF, his brother, my brother and several of our male friends live them. Their wives are all secretly plotting on how to ruin them and get new.

AllieLaLa:  Yikes- can I ask what brand you guys got?  And how much you paud for it?  That sounds terrible.

I have a pillow top mattress, and then I put my own 1.5 inch memory foam on it.  I got about seven years ago and it’s awesome still.  It’s a Simmons Beautyrest.  We want a king size now though- but I fully intend on finding a similar one.

Can.I.Be.Mrs.C.:  lol. Luckily my sleeplessness and whining was enough of a discomfort to my SO that we both had  reason to get rid of it. Muwahahaha!

Do not get one of those spring/memory foam combo mattresses. It sounds like a good idea, but over time the foam separated from the springs and then we had a large lump through the upper middle of the bed where the foam had folded over itself…and since it was sewn on the inside there wasnt a way to fix it.

Also I would really really really recommend a mattress cover. Our warranty on that particular crappy mattress ended up being void because of a red stain left from our red bedding. Was the stain the cause of our mattress breaking down? Of course not, but they refused it anyway.

AllieLaLa:  I had a mattress that sounds like it was like yours.  What brand did you get?  I had mine for over 3 years before my husband brought over his air mattress bed (which I HATE by the way).

I like the memory foam mattress. I refused to get a spring mattress. The one that my fiance had use to hurt my back. I love our bed now we had it for over 2 and half years now.

Tempur Pedic. They’re expensive but so worth it (they also last waaaay longer than traditional mattresses). They now make them with a cooling layer so they don’t get hot like the original ones did. My husband used to wake up all the time because he’s very sensitive about movement but ever since we got out Tempur Pedic he no longer feels when I move or get up and he sleeps so much better. Also, I prefer a softer mattress and he prefers a firm mattress and the Tempur Pedic was a great middle ground for us. It’s soft enough that I’m comfortable but it provides enough support for him.

AllieLaLa:  I’m honestly not sure. Its a Tempur Pedic knockoff if I’m being honest. It was a third of the price but I dont remember the brand lol
