Totally conflicted after seeing far too many dresses at about 4 stores – I finally came across an inbal dror dress I absolutely loved, really the only one i ‘loved’ from all of the dresses I tried on. It was very unique and not cookie cutter, also it fit and felt amazing, unfortunately just thinking about the price it is more than I really want to spend (coming in at 8.4K plus tax, alterations, and a 5% rush fee for ordering under 9mo away). I can pay for it, so that’s why I even decided to try it on (paying for it was not out of the question)- but would feel pretty crazy in thinking i paid 10K for a dress, and would rather save my money than just blow it on a dress i will wear for a few hours. Would you justify it/has anyone bought a dress like this and did you feel it was worth it?

This is such a a tough call and personal decision. Only you can make that choice based on other things going on in your life. I faced the same dilemma (albeit with a smaller budget) and ultimately went with a cheaper dress which I love anyway.
what dress are you looking at? Bees here might be able to help you find something similar for less.

I had a similar dilemma. I loved the couture style of inbal dror, galia lahav and vera wang gowns, but I just couldn’t justify spending that amount of $. I ended up going with a dress that I love so much but fit in my budget by pronovias. Not quite as couture, but still beautiful. You could try getting a replica made. A lot of bees had theirs made by jasmine or dressilyme.

I can’t really say anything much better than PP as far as it being a personal decision. I know there are a lot of really incredibly beautiful dresses out there that I could have gone with, but I never could justify the cost. I always thought that if the dress felt like it was worth it then I would buy it, but even the most gorgeous ones couldn’t sway me to spend that much.<br />I kept thinking about all the things I could use that money on instead, like a house and furnishings, etc. I would never knock a bride for going for it with her wedding and having the day she’s always dreamed of, but in my experience for myself… I couldn’t do it.
In the long run, I had a great day, I have a great marriage and everyone complimented me on the day. They may have just been being nice, but even looking back, I don’t care.
