we had our wedding ceremony in the boston public garden. we took pictures with the swan boats going by. you can reserve a time to actually go on the swan boats for pictures if you want. also, my hubby and I rented the green and orange boston trolley. we actually went on one on our first date - chocolate tour, so we thought it would be perfect for our wedding. we used it to transport us and the bridal party/family around.
OH THAT SOUNDS AWESOME! I dont know how formal your wedding will be but here are some ideas:
Have Boston Baked Beans candy as favors
Use min inflatebles of Fenway as ceterpices or maybe fill them with Boston BakeD bEAN CANDY
Play Muddy Water by the Standels
Also this cake topper is WICKED cute. http://family.webshots.com/photo/2541009260100162340mccFfT
You've gotta make sure your DJ plays sweet caroline!!
If you plan to have a "bridal luncheon" it could be a Boston Tea Party ... go to tea at one of the higher end hotels in downtown.
Cape Cod potato chips in the out of town bags.
Table names could be your favorite places in Boston
I definitely second the trolly cars to take you around!
I'll keep thinking!
Maybe you can tie in the T in some way? Like instead of using table numbers, you can name your tables after stops on the T (i.e. Coply, Fenway, Riverside) and use little T maps as the table cards. I love the way those maps look. You can also: Serve Sam Adams beer, arrange a 'duck tour' for guests, use a coffee table book of Boston as your guest book (as long as it has margins to write in) and have guests sign it with a pen made of wood from old Fenway Park seats.
Also, if you don't want to use the T idea for table names, you can always use stops on Paul Revere's Ride, famous Red Sox players, Boston landmarks or Boston neighborhoods as table names. It could be fun to sit in Southie or Back Bay! (though i still love the little T maps and names) :-)
two things that jsut popped into my head were wally & the green monster.
would be super cool if you could get wally to come to the reception for pictures...or if you could get a green monster back drop thing and have guests pose in front of it.
I saw at a wedding that they named all the tables after their favorite Sox / Pats / Celts players!
omg such fun suggestions! thank you!
i love the idea of doing T stops as table numbers, and the maps on the cards! i actually bought the FI cufflinks made of old T tokens for his grooms gift, so this is another perfect touch!
definitely playing sweet caroline and dirty water at the reception. dirty water is actually going to be our grand entrance song ![]()
way too many fun options for the oot bags. i could bust my budget on those!
definitely keep the suggestions coming if you think of anything else!!!
Haha, I was going to say to get those cufflinks, but it looks like you are on top of your game.
I am from MA but FI is from RI and we are having everything in RI. I am kinda bummed b/c I won't really include anything "boston" but that's ok. We did hire a DJ from Boston with an awesome thick Boston accent, so I think that will entertain our guests from OOT.
Have you heard of adozeneggs.com? They have the cutest cookie tins with boston or Red Sox themes! You can also get them as individual favors.
We had Wally at my sister's Red Sox themed engament party. he was $300.00 for the event. He took tons of picture, autographs, and everyone loved it. May not be appropriate for a formal weddign, but maybe the rehersal dinner or cocktail hour?
You could do a rehersal dinner at a Boston Staple like Union Oyster House.

Hey Boston Bees!
My FI and I are having a very Boston wedding in July. Ceremony at the Old State House, reception at the Top of the Hub (sweeping views of skyline anyone?), and are definitely featuring some Fenway music classics at the reception. We love love love Boston and have so many out of town guests, we really want to give them a great introduction.
Is anyone else incorporating Boston (or your respective town/location) in your wedding? I'm totally on the lookout for more fun ideas!
