    Hi Hive!

I need your creative minds on this one. My FI and I have two kitties, Ruby and Pearl, whom we adore, (much to FI's chagrin of course). Anyway, they are like our little children. I would like to incorporate them into our wedding somewhere. NOT the actual cats of course and I don't really want any CAT theme to anything, more like Rubies and Pearls and (assuming and hoping) those closest to us would understand the symbolism.

To give you an idea of our wedding thus far, I don't really have an overall theme, but the colors I'm thinking will pomegranate, olive and gold. Table center pieces will be ribbon topiaries, favors will be candy buffet with chinese take out contaniers acting as table cards and candy containers. Not a ruby or pearl in sight.

Suggestions please! How did you incorporate your pet children into the mix without actually incorporating the actual pets?

You could make a charm with a picture on it, and attach it to your bouquet?

A number of Bees have done something similar to honor their relatives that couldn't be at the wedding:

    Good luck!

A lot of bees have incorporated them into table numbers, and they always turn out so adorable!

I second Quiche, the most commen way I've seen to incorporate pets is the table numbers. But, a friend of mine has two dogs and when they got married, they had a basket of dog bones for their guests with dogs to take home with them, I thought it was so cute b/c they wrapped a peice of paper around each bone that said "my mom and dad got married."

You could possible do this for your guests w/ cats, and use cat treats or little cat toys.

Also, I just thought of another idea on how your can incorprate your cats with your colors. You could use balls of yarn in your wedding colors and arrange them like modern decorative balls on a plate, or hang them like this. I know that when I see balls of yarn, I always think of cats :)

If your cake is white I have a great idea.....cat cake topper!!!  I just bought mine on Etsy and the seller has one of two kitties.  Very cute, very classic looking.  I like that it's sort of like my boy is presiding over the reception.....from the top of the cake lol.

We had kitty STD cards. However, with a cat sanctuary and over 40 cats, it is darn dificult to incorporate them into the ceremony, besides they hate ot travel.

here is one pic I have been sending friends of my sweetest little bridesmaid - her name is Squeaky Fromm!

you can name your signature cocktails after them.  I believe Mrs. Cream Puff did that!

We are pretty excited about the way were including our kitties...although it might be too much for you.  Just an idea to pass along, anyway!

We had a holiday card made last year that had cartoon faces of the four of us (my FI, the kitties and me).  We're having cupcakes at the reception and we're planning on getting those custom M'n'Ms in our wedding colors that have their cartoon faces on them.  Their names will be on the back.  We'll use the M'n'Ms to top off the cupcakes.

Are we losers, or what?!  :)

@missmck - that is SUPER cute!!!! My dream would be to have him as the flower cat, but I know that's not happening. I may be stealing your idea! I would love to somehow incorporate Jack into the table names and he is super photogenic but yeah, I'm saving this thread to faves.

I just wanted to say that I love some of these ideas! We have 2 cats (one day, I will be that crazy cat lady) and these are a lot of non-tacky ways to include them into things. I have Chip and Loafers. I'm thinking chips will be easy to include into it somehow. Thanks guys!

you could have them be a part of the ceremony!  I hired a petsitter to help me include my dog in my ceremony!  Her name is Holly at ALlieCat and Puppy Petsitting.  She is located in Florida but does travel if expenses paid and she is totally worth it.  She will help you include your babies at your ceremony and also will be responsible for them all day and even take them home after so you dont have to worry about them.

Instead of favors, we made a donation to the local Humane Society, where we adopted our 2 cats. I am printing a card with our cats' picture on it detailing our donation for guests.

Looks like the OP already had her wedding.

@VegasBaby: How did it go? What did you end up doing?
