A wedding I attended had a slideshow of photos of the bride and groom from childhood through their engagement. It was sweet, but may or may not work with the type of wedding you have in mind.
@iheartnerds: Yeah, I don't know if a slideshow will work with the separated dining rooms. Thanks for the idea, though. I could always have the slideshow going for the cocktail hour when people are walking around.
My FSIL had a bunch of pictures in cute frames that were situated near the cakes and gift tables, it was really cute. You could always buy cheap frames and spraypaint if you wanted a particular look.
We had a slideshow similar to what you described and played it during the cocktail hour. Many guests said they enjoyed it!

I love the idea of using a clothesline to display photos hung by clothespins - very rustic/outdoors type wedding would be perfect for this type of display
Ive also seen where there is a long table with photos just placed flat on the tables for people to look at. The second picture shows how the photos would be displayed and people would look at them (just pretend those escort cards are photos!)

At our wedding, we collected as many wedding photos of our married guests as possible. We tried to do them secretly when we could (e.g. asked one family member to gather 3 or 4 pictures from their family, or pictures we had from weddings we attended). Then we printed them all off in 4x6 size and bought frames. We put 1-2 pictures on every table. The pictures on the tables were not necessarily the people that were sitting there. It was by far the most complimented thing we had at our wedding, and people still mention it to me. We also included some pictures of family members who have passed away (our grandparents' weddings). Several people even cried! We also let these couples take their picture home as a favour.

Oh, and my mom also made one of those display boards with pictures of us growing up and with friends and each other as a surprise. People loved that too!
Great ideas!
Do you think I can put the clothesline photos outside? OR will the pictures blow away or be damaged?
@pinkbubblegum - If you wanted to do the clothesline thing, you could always make copies of photos and then superglue them to the clothespins just to be on the "safe side".
We are having a photo themed wedding. I started this thread a while back looking for ideas. Maybe you can use some of them.

I found pictures of both of our parents with their wedding cakes and framed it and placed it at the cake table.
We used a digital frame to play/display our engagement photos on our guestbook table.

Thanks for the ideas, everyone!!
@OurWedding: Thank for the link. I originally wanted to put little boxes on each table with pictures, sort of like a recipe box. I was imagining that I would coordinate the boxes so that the people sitting at the table would be in some of the photos. I just don't feel like that fits with my venue, though. Maybe you could use that idea.
I have been to an outdoor/rustic wedding with the clothesline set up, it was very cute. Could you use them in your venue running along the wall leading from room to room and use some fancy tiny metal or decorative clips? Or if you can rig it up, having a lot of photos hanging from fishing from the ceiling line looks very impressive if it's in an area that guests can wander through at their leisure (the only good example I can think of is in Taylor Swift's video 'Mine' at 0:33).
Our receptoin was in an old mansion style venue. We had pictures of our families, grandparents, etc scattered throughout the venue. I felt it made for a homey feeling becuase the venue had several different rooms (living room, bar, dining room) with lots of different sitting areas and side tables that we just had pciture frames scattered about on. My only regret was that I didnt have time to make some way to the pictures so people would know who they are and not just think they were random people.

I am looking for any and all ideas of ways to include pictures at our reception or ceremony. I am a huge picture person and would love to have pictures of my FI and I as well as pictures with our families and our friends (the guests at the wedding). I think it would be a nice way to show our history and include all our guests in a tangible manner.
I am looking for ideas of how to display or include pictures. Our ceremony will be outside, followed by a cocktail hour on a patio and indoor reception. The venue is a historic house, so it will be a fairly formal event. In addition, the dining rooms will be separated, so for dinner the guests will be in 4 different (adjoined) rooms.
