    Have you tried on a variety of dress shapes? There are so many out there: Trumpet, A-line, Ball Gown, Swearheart neckline, Straps, etc…

    I have to say, though, that there is a good chance you will end up with a dress you never though you would.  I thought  I was set on cap sleaves, but didn’t end up with them.

    Also, don’t settle on a dress if you aren’t comfortable.  That dress looks great, but if you don’t feel confident in it it will show.

    Have you looked at the Dessy destination collection? I recently discovered they had wedding dresses, and I thought it was neat that you could get a SAMPLE on LOAN, to try at home.

    That dress is AMAZING! I really think it is so beautiful.

    However, if you are not going to feel comfortable, then it is not a good choice. You need to do what you feel will make you feel the most comfortable. You will look great no matter what you choose!

    Don’t buy the second dress if you don’t think it’s going to make you happy! You’ll end up hating it and then probably dumping a bunch of money into a second dress. I would keep looking, and if you keep thinking about that dress, then go back to it. 🙂

    I think the dress you found is beautiful, but if you want the other one… keep searching.

    Find a dress you are comfortable in but don’t worry if its not what you thought it would be.  Mine was exactly what I was trying to avoid.

    I think the second dress is gorgeous.  Looking at the picture of you, I’d imagine you definitely have the figure to pull it off.

    BUT if you are not used to wearing tight stuff and are going to be uncomfortable or feel out of place or self conscious, then it’s not worth it.

    I’ve gotten a lot of advice to try stuff that’s outside what I see myself in, unexpected, etc.  But I’ve also found that a lot of dresses that are not what I imagine are just too much… the fact that it’s not me overwhelms how gorgeous the dress is or might look on me.  I think what you need to figure out is if you’re just surprised that it’s not what you pictures or if you’re really uncomfortable with that sort of dress / feel out of place in it.

    @CDubyaToCJay:that dress is so pretty!

    i would definitely recommend jcrew. they have plenty of flowy dresses! also, if you stick to something flowy at jcrew they’re usually not as expensive.

    I tried on this dress and loved it, even though I didn’t end up with it. It’s flowy and Grecian, very flattering and unique, and from a new designer– Pattis:
