I am purchasing my bridal lehenga unstitched from india. I was wondering if anyone knows a good tailor in the NJ/NY/PA area? also, do people have experience with purchasing from dressrepublic.com or borgello.com? it seems ustav is good, but was wondering about the others. thanks!

I actually can't help you, but what other sites do you know of that has lehengas? I only know of utsav, seasonindia, and exclusively.in (haven't checked them for lehengas though). Are you going to India to buy the lehenga, or getting it online? FMIL says we need to go to India, but I'm totally fine with getting it online hahaha.

@jumpthegun: I like the lehengas at dress reublic...they are very modern, though a little expensive. I have emailed them a couple of times and they respond very quickly and are very professional. In fact i was going to get a sample of the material...and though it was $20...it would give me piece of mind regarding the fabric and color. Borgello seems good...but i know very little about them. They are the most expensive that i have seen...but very modern designs. The other one that i found today was bridepride.com...i haven' t looked into it further.

I too was very happy with purchasing on line...Was debating myself if i "had" to go to india. I am quite happy, if i can find a tailor...that way i can order the fabric, continue my diet and training...and then get the outfit stitched.

Hi, Congrats to everyone on their upcomming special day :). Anyone looking to shop online should check out www.myindianboutique.com. They have great styles and affordable prices for brides and grooms and also offer custom designs of an oftfit you are looking to change to fit your needs. Hope this helps.
