Check out the Marriott Downtown. They have a lot of Indian weddings there because they have a seperate kitchen for an outside caterer to use. That way, you can bring in your own caterer and everything goes off seamlessly. It's also really big so can accomodate 250-300 people. Lastly, Brad, the event planner, is excellent! I almost had my own wedding there but didn't only because of scheduling issues.
Good luck!
We attended an Indian wedding at the Loews and it was absolutely wonderful! They had an outside caterer and I believe their guest list was similiar in size to yours.
I'm also an Indian bride with approximately the same number of guests - I found that even though they say they don't allow outside catering, they will accommodate for Indian catering. Try almost any country club (Philmont, Northampton Valley, Talamore are all ones I was considering), the Merion, Pen Ryn, Cescaphe, Pearl S. Buck Estate, even the Philadelphia Cricket Club will allow it if it's just for the Indian portion of the menu.

Hello,
I am planning to have my wedding in Philadelphia or the suburbs (Southern) in June orJuly 2012. It's going to be an Indian ceremony. Since I don't live in the area anymore, and my parents moved back to India earlier this year, it's becoming so hard to plan!
Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions for a good venue location? The guest list is looking to be 250-300, and we would like to use an outside caterer for Indian food.
Any help would be GREAT!
Thanks!!
