I’m stuck with trying to figure out the processional song and my song to walk down the aisle to. I don’t want the classic choices and I would really like to go with the kind of music my FI and I like (e.g. The Black Keys, Of Monsters & Men, etc.). Any suggestions? Our DJ is bugging us to get him all of our song choices this week!

Have you come up with anything yet??
Here are a couple slower & a couple a little more upbeat options that are cute:
“Turning Page” Sleeping at Last (there is also an instrumental version that is really pretty)
“Sea of Love” Cat Powers cover
“The Girl” City and Colour (the first half is slow, so I would cut it before the tempo speeds up)
“Hello Sunshine” Super Furry Animals
“Toothpaste Kisses” The Maccabees
“First Day of my Life” Bright Eyes

I had my parents walk me up to the back row of guest chairs to Welcome to the Black Parade (Chemical Romance) then they went on to their seats and DH walked over to me and we walked the rest of the way to the Minister together to Life In Technicolour (Coldplay).
It was great and I was dying laughing inside (but very solemn on the outside of course) to WTTBP. We were both beaming to LIT.

@octoberbride2be: I’m walking down the asile to “Cannonscore” by Cassino. It’s gorgeous. The song has no words, but they are an indie band. Members formally of Northstar, who were signed to Triple Crown Records, where Brand New used to be signed. SO good.

I walked down to “Unobstructed Views” by Death Cab for Cutie. I loved it so much 🙂

I’m walking in to “Phone call” from the “eternal sunshine” soundtrack.

Sorry, I’m just getting back to this post. Had the wedding on 13th and then have been on work travel.
Our processional was Ho Hey by The Lumineers and I walked down the aisle to Sweet Disposition by Temper Trap. Our recessional was Home by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.
Best of luck to others looking for some songs. 🙂
