Hi all,

This is kind of a weird request. In Washington, DC every year, there is a Cherry Blossom Festival in April. I am representing my state as its Cherry Blossom Princess and need a long, white, formal gown for one of the nights of the festival. However, there are a number of other wardrobe requirements and I can't justify spending hundreds of dollars on a dress I'll wear just for this, while saving up money for my wedding. Also, I don't want to wear my wedding dress for this event and then wear again about a year later.

Does anyone have any ideas where to look? I would like to spend no more than $200 on this, as I'll probably need to get it altered, and cut off the train. Any DC area brides who can reccomend thrift stores in the DC metro area? Any other resources? Thanks!

what's your size? try david's bridal--maybe you can get a good deal? also, some of their web only dresses are on sale now.

There is a wedding gown consignment shop in Maryland (Bethesda, Rockville area) I think its called I Do, I Do. They have consignment gowns, samples, and regular gowns. Call and tell them what you're looking for - I thought the staff was nice once I got there and conscious of my budget (my budget was under $500 and I found a good amount of stuff). I think you can probably find stuff in the consignment section. Good luck!
