I've been struggling with how to create an inexpensive centerpiece and I think I've finally got it! I found candlesticks that I am going to paint - not sure what color. Colors of the wedding are black, white, and "cornflower" blue. I will have about 3/per table and they range in size from 9-13". I'm concerned if I don't have flowers, though, but I want to avoid the cost of flowers. I was thinking a couple other tea lights and maybe some petals on the table, around the candle arrangement. What do you think?

I think it is beautiful! Those candlesticks are great. Where did you get them?

    I like them!

I think what colour you should paint them would depend on the feel that you're going for on the day.  Painting them black would make them more sleek/sophisticated, while white would be more airy and whimsical.

I like black.  Are your tableclothes going to be white?

petunia: I actually got them from someone selling them on craigslist. i believe she got them from Michael's.

Curly: the linens will all be white. Maybe I can have black for one table, white on another, silver on another and repeat?
